The requirements imposed on modernized and new rail vehicles are increasing. They are related to safety and environmental protection, and aimed at improving the travel operational parameters and comfort. Therefore, the weight reduction of rail vehicles plays an increasingly important role in the designing process. The paper presents the construction of the chassis of modern passenger coaches and specification of the masses of particular components of the coach chassis. The directions of development of the passenger coach chassis are proposed, with a view to reduce its weight.

Wymagania stawiane zarówno modernizowanym jak i nowym pojazdom szynowym są coraz większe. Dotyczą one bezpieczeństwa i ochrony środowiska, a z drugiej strony polepszenia parametrów eksploatacyjnych oraz komfortu podróżowania. Redukcja masy pojazdów szynowych odgrywa coraz większą rolę podczas procesu konstruowania. W artykule przedstawiono konstrukcję podwozi współczesnych wagonów osobowych, dokonano analizy mas poszczególnych elementów podwozia wagonowego oraz zaproponowano kierunki rozwoju budowy konstrukcji podwozi wagonów osobowych w odniesieniu do redukcji masy.

The article is devoted to the presentation of modern systems and assemblies used in modernized shunting locomotives. The article presents the main parameters of locomotives before and after modernization. Three types of locomotives are described: 6Di with a Caterpillar engine, 6Di with a Cummins engine and 19D with an MTU engine. The article also contains a number of information on the scope of locomotive modernization and traction characteristics.

Artykuł jest poświęcony prezentacji nowoczesnych układów i zespołów zastosowanych w modernizowanych lokomotywach manewrowych. W artykule przedstawiono główne parametry lokomotyw przed i po modernizacji. Opisano trzy typy lokomotyw: 6Di z silnikiem Caterpillar, 6Di z silnikiem Cumminsa oraz 19D z silnikiem MTU. Artykuł zawiera ponadto szereg informacji o zakresie modernizacji lokomotyw oraz charakterystyki trakcyjne.

Taking into account Poland’s obligation to meet the requirements of the Directive 2008/57/WE related to railways two existing conceptions of the passenger cars (157Aa and 167A) are presented that meet the Directive criteria. The differences in the interior arrangement are depicted, according to the adopted way of boarding a passenger on the wheelchair. Attention was paid to necessary infrastructure preparation with a view to make use of full opportunities provided by both coaches.

W związku ze zobowiązaniem Polski do stosowania wymagań Dyrektywy 2008/57/WE dotyczącej kolei przedstawiono dwie istniejące koncepcje wagonów osobowych (serii 157Aa i 167A) spełniających kryteria tej Dyrektywy. Przedstawiono różnice w układzie wnętrza w zależności od przyjętego sposobu wprowadzenia podróżnego na wózku inwalidzkim do wagonu. Zwrócono uwagę na konieczność przygotowania infrastruktury do wykorzystania w pełni możliwości oferowanych przez oba wagony.
