The paper summarizes the performance data of a newly designed and engineered grinding and cut-off system. The machine is used for separation of models manufactured by the investment casting method. The machine comprises the following units: - base supporting other assemblies and elements: abrasive disc holder and drives; this solution enables an easy replacement and access to holding elements while a belt transmission allows the disc rpm to be varied, - mechanism moving the spindle in the horizontal, hence the abrasive disc position with respect to the batch can be precisely controlled, depending on the cast position and their shape, - holding and positioning-control of the batch to enable the fore and aft movements and rotations, - guide systems ensuring the travel of the batch in the specified direction and adjusting the travel speed to the required cutting rate, - centering, control, exhaust system, housing Extensive tests were performed, including the tests of operating parameters of abrasive discs depending on the cast material, cyclograms of the applied treatment are obtained accordingly.

The research being presented in this article has been set up with the aim of working out both the technology and starting up manufacturing process ( in which a new generation of ceramic slips is employed ) in "Armatura" precise foundry. There have been used "aqueous" Ekosil silicate binder and quartz ceramic material with addition of organic fibres for making slip in the new technological solution. In the presented research work has been achieved a quantitative and qualitative selection of composition for the ceramic slip. The selection has been based on testing of physico-chemical and technological qualities.

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki kontroli staliwa gatunku GC20 i GC40 metodą ATD. Wykazano, że na krzywej derywacyjnej występują efekty cieplne od krystalizujących faz. Zwiększenie ilości węgla w staliwie zmienia charakterystyczne temperatury przemian staliwa zgodnie z jego znanym wpływem. Na tej podstawie można opracować program komputerowy kontroli staliwa w procesie wytapiania.

In this paper results of control of GC20 and GC40 cast steel with TDA method is presented. It was demonstrated, that on the derivative curve there appear thermal effects from phases crystallization. The increase of carbon contents in cast steel changes characteristic temperature of cast steel transformations according to its known influence. Based on this the computer program of the cast steel control during casting process can be elaborated.
