This paper describes the European Personal Air Transportation System (EPATS) STUDY project realized in the Sixth Framework Programme. It consists of two parts: First part includes basic information about the EPATS STUDY project: project objectives, list of partners, project structure and deliverables. Second part contains results of the project. There are presented conclusions referring to the accessibility and suitability analysis of European airports, the EPATS demand forecasting, general requirements, environmental and safety aspects, business models and recommendations. Results of the EPATS STUDY project show that it is possible to replace car trips on a distance longer than 300 km by personal air transport based on small aircraft and small local airports in Europe.

This paper briefly reviews the transport networks and socio-economic indicators affecting the development of transport and shows the share of different modes of transport in passenger transport volume in Europe. Based on statistics and studies of mobility, carried out earlier in the framework of European programs, an assessment of accessibility and performance of main transport systems was made. Pointed out the need to fill the existing gap transport occurring in the range of 300 km to about 1200 km.

Ideą Regionalnego Systemu Transportu Małymi Samolotami (STMS) jest udostępnienie ekonomicznego, szybkiego, bezpiecznego i ekologicznie korzystnego środka transportu społecznościom wszystkich obszarów kraju, a szczególnie regionom oddalonym od głównych szlaków komunikacyjnych. Regionalny System Transportu Małymi Samolotami ma wypełnić niszę rynkową na relacjach O-D (Origin-Destination) o długości od 250 km do 1500 km i wyżej, na których korzystanie z samochodu osobowego jest uciążliwe, i na których brak jest połączeń ekspresowych lub lotniczych regionalnymi liniami, a ich wprowadzenie jest nieracjonalne ze względu na małe natężenie ruchu.

The idea of Regional Small Aircraft Transportation System is accessibility to all countries communities (especially remote to main traffic routines) new transport mode -economic, fast, safe and clean. Regional Small Aircraft Transportation System will fulfill market niche on distance O-D (Origin-Destination) from 250 km to 1500 km and longer. It is niche between Surface and Scheduled Air Transport. This future Regional Small Aircraft Transportation System will provide a wider choice of transportation mode - and the wider use of small aircraft, served by small airports, to create access to more communities in less time.

As part of this research on the suitability of Czech bentonite 'Most' its quantitative and qualitative phase composition, water absorptivity, calcium ion cation exchangeability, sedimentation, iodine number and bentonite-water suspension viscosity were determined. The test results, compared with the data reported in literature, show that the bentonite can be used as a stabilizer in the manufacture of suspension fertilizers.

The paper presents the design activity of the Institute of Aviation that was founded in 1926 to develop, and test aeronautical engineering products. The survey comprises : a report from 1930, the main milestones, such as experimental helicopter, a family of trainers (Bies, Iskra, and Iryda), research capabilities, and the current task of the Institute of Aviation, i.e. to create a scientific basis for aeronautical engineering tailored to the market economy. As a result, the military industrial complex is adopted for civil applications, thus creating a general aviation program. The primary objective of the paper is to show: where the Polish aviation is now, the trends in aviation development in other countries (AGATE - program), and the ways Poland can make impact on world aviation.

W artykule podano równania przetwarzania dla dwóch wersji przetworników indukcyjnościowych. Pierwsza wersja dotyczy przetworników jednocewkowych, druga natomiast dwucewkowych. Przedstawione charakterystyki umożliwiają projektowanie przetworników indukcyjnościowych w kształcie cewek krótkich do pomiaru przewodności elektrycznej metodą bezstykową. Dla wersji jednocewkowej przeprowadzono weryfikację doświadczalną.

In this paper important trends of the world aerospace technology and corresponding research have been outlined. The current state and expectations seen from the Polish perspective are also included in this text. Some selected design and research projects, either recently completed or now being under development are also presented. Some manufacturing capabilities and chances of Polish aerospace industry have been pointed out. The authors suggest that Polish aerospace companies have to look for the so-called "marked niches" to be successful in a very strong international aerospace competition. Facilities and human resources at Polish research institutes and universities, dealing with the aerospace are shortly presented. The authors represent various universities, institutions, military bodies and industrial companies, however all the opinions presented here have reflected their own point of view and are not the official positions of these institutions.
