Praca przedstawia niektóre kierunki przeróbki odpadów zaolejonych, odpadów petrochemicznych oraz z wielkotonażowej przeróbki naftowej. Zaproponowane sposoby utylizacji pozwolą znacznie zmniejszyć cenę otrzymywanych produktów oraz wpłynąć na ochronę środowiska.

The selected methods of the oiled up and petrochemical wastes treatment have been presented. The proposed methods of utilization contribute to the reduction in price of the obtained products and have a beneficial effect on the environmental protection.

Sludge (galvanic slime) a suspension or a paste, contains heavy metl hydroxides, and it is a highly dangerous waste. It entails construction of expensive special repositories, otherwise a socondary contamination of surface and subsoil water can occur. Yet the phisical and chemical properties of the ingredients of galvanic slime make using them possible only after appropraite processing, as pigment in varnish and paint compositions, magnetic materials and one of the components of rubber. Among other trends in electroplating works sludge utilization processing the sludge by methods worked out by the Labour Protection and Nature Preservation Department of the Yaroslavl State Technical University in cooperation with the private enterprise 'Ecoproject' deserves particular consideration. According to this technology a galvanic slime processing shop (scientific and production enterprise 'FEROS') was created. The cost of the product ranges $200 - 1000 per ton. It can replace pigments, the price of which fluctuates from $400 to more than $2625. Yaroslavl Satte Technical University and the private enterprise 'Ecoproject' propose cooperation to all the companies and enterprises interested in utilization of galvanic works sludge. 'Ecoproject' canhelp to organize the wprk and tailor iy to the customer's needs. Cooperation in this field will contribute to compensation of the expenditures for carrying out investigations, developing projects and mouting installations.

Birch activated coal fixed between titanium and ruthenic oxide electrodes was used. The experiments were carried out with a model solution containg 3000 mg/dm3 natrium ions and 5.44 mg/dm3 copper (II) ions. It was shown that adsorption ofnatrium ions was observed only at imposing voltage. The adsorption of copper (II) ions was worse, since the adsorption process had a competitive character. Interrelation between voltage, submitted on electrodes of a cell (2 - 35 V) and quantity of desorbed ions was established. Efficiency of the adsorption and desorption processes of naturium and copper ions amounted accordingly after 7 hours: 51.17%, 73.53%. and 46.63%, 20.83%.
