W ciągu ostatnich kilku dekad poglądy dotyczące otoczenia systemu ewaluowały w kierunku wzrostu znaczenia otoczenia na funkcjonowanie systemu. Mnogość głosów zabieranych w dyskusji nad otoczeniem jest przyczyną rozmycia pojęciowego oraz chaosu w odniesieniu do jego definiowania i modelowania. Celem artykułu jest znalezienie konsensusu co do modelu otoczenia oraz określenie wpływu otoczenia na system transportu zbiorowego poprzez dokonanie przeglądu literatury. Autor wyraża nadzieję, że tekst ten będzie stanowić wkład do licznych dotychczasowych prób interdyscyplinarnego ujęcia otoczenia systemu i uzupełnienie luki nadal występującej w tym obszarze.

Over the past few decades, views regarding the system's environment have evolved towards an increase in the importance of the environment to the functioning of the system. A multitude of votes taken in the discussion on the environment is the cause of conceptual blurring and chaos in relation to its defining and modeling. The aim of the article is to find a consensus about the model of the environment and to determine the influence of the environment on the public transport system by reviewing the literature. The author hopes that this text will contribute to numerous attempts to interdisciplinary approach to the system's environment and to fill the gap still existing in this area.
