The research problem consists in the recognition of the influence of some geo-technical factors on the costs related to construction of buildings. Three out of a number of various geotechnical factors affecting the costs of construction of buildings were selected: the thickness of ground of low bearing capacity below the level of foundation, the underground water table above the level of foundation, and the angle of slope. The buildings for research were selected by the so-called purposeful random sampling method. The next chapter evaluates the research material using the adopted criteria. This material formed a heterogeneous population, in particular with regard to the purpose of the buildings and the volume of construction costs. Following selection and elimination, single-family detached houses were included in further analysis The research material covered by this thesis is also described in terms of statistics, followed by mathematical statistics, that is, quantitative and qualitative analysis of the influence of some geotechnical factors on the cost of construction of buildings. The results of research supported the theses of the project, enabled the achievement of the objective of the project and the formulation of the conclusion. Moreover, research results were verified and the lines of further research were suggested.
