The effect of MgF2 or -Al2O3 supported binary copper and manganese oxides on the catalytic properties in theNO+ C3H6+O2 reaction was studied. The catalysts were prepared using a co-impregnation procedure. The results were compared to those obtained for mono-oxide catalysts (Cu, Mn). The best performance was found for copper-manganese catalysts supported on MgF2 and their activity was related to the presence of a spinel structure type CuxMn3-xO4. The Cu-Mn/MgF2 catalyst shows almost 100% conversion and selectivity in nitrogen oxide reduction by propene to N2.
