The article describes the results of testing a Benning AC/DC power supply, with integrated NIT TBA-ST meter. Such integration enables accurate and energy-efficient measurements of available capacity of individual 48-voltage VRLA/AGM batteries with remote management possibilities. The full compliance with the requirements for telecommunication power systems, the great functionality, upgrade ability, immunity to user errors and the high accuracy of capacity and voltage measurement of battery monoblocks of proposed solution are presented.

The main purpose of research was to indicate with tribological properties of high strength polypropylene geofabrics. The research involved fabric attrition. The following parameters were examined: breathable air, weight loss and thickness changing of geofabrics samples. The research samples and laboratory conditions were described, measuring instruments and measurement methods were specified. Obtained results of the research were presented in the form of tables and graphs with appropriate description.

The article presents numerous problems with standby batteries used in telecommunications systems, with a particular emphasis placed on the assessment of their real capacity. The methods used to evaluate the technical condition of batteries and to measure their real capacity are presented. Also, the a new test device which measures the actual battery capacity is presented. The said measurement is based on the discharge test method and is performed with the use of a new TBA-A automated test unit. The article is targeted for electronic designers, managers and telecommunications hardware maintenance personnel, as well as for other telecommunications systems experts.

W artykule przedstawiono działania związane z budową modelu symulacyjnego funkcjonowania kopalni węgla kamiennego. Bezpośrednim celem symulacji jest analiza tzw. "wąskich gardeł" i zaproponowanie działań mających na celu poprawę funkcjonowania firmy jako całości, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem systemu transportu, rozumianego w aspekcie transportu pracowników "na" i "ze" stanowisk pracy, transportu urobku oraz odpowiedniej synchronizacji tych działań.

In the paper simulation model building of a coal mine operation is presented. The main goal of the simulation is bottlenecks analysis and proposition of changes aiming at improvement of the company operation. The main interest is paid to transport of workers to and from workplaces, transport of mined coal and synchronisation of these two activities.

The paper presents overview of research and development work on power supply for telecom equipment, carried out between 1947 and 2009 at the "old" (pre-split) and "new" National Institute of Telecommunications in Warsaw. It is emphasized that engagement and hard work of employees of the Department of Power Systems has been crucial for solving complex power supply problems.
