In the field of logistics dynamic changes such as physical, information and financial flows take place. The main aim of this article is to present the restructuring of PKP Cargo SA company conducted in response to the outbreak of the current economic and financial crisis. Crisis has exposed inadequacy of the structures and processes within the company and significantly deteriorated its financial position. The case study research method was used to present the market position of mentioned company in the transportation industry. What is more a range of changes introduced in the company and their impact on the economic and financial situation was discussed. The adequate analyzes for a 4-year comparison period between 2007 to 2011 were evaluated. They included the development of the particular parameters both before the outbreak of the economic crisis in Europe and shortly after, that is, during the period of the greatest difficulties of the company, as well as in the years following the implementation of the restructuring program.

Public transportation has been the cheapest way of travelling for a long time. However, the development of the automotive industry, an increase in income of the society, attaching significance to the comfort and expectations concerning high-quality communication services mean that transport companies must pay particular attention to the passengers’ assessment of quality and strive to meet their requirements and needs. The article presents a comparative analysis focused on the results of research on quality of public transport in Bydgoszcz carried out in 2009 and 2014.

The infrastructure of road transport is a crucial factor influencing the competitiveness of the country. A well-developed infrastructure creates favourable conditions for efficient functioning of transport, and most importantly, it dynamizes the growth of the national economy. The article analyses the development of the road infrastructure in Poland and in a chosen area within the space of the last several years. It describes infrastructure investments as a significant aspect of proper functioning as and the development of the economy on the regional, as well as on the national level.

Gwałtowne tempo wzrostu dynamiki zmian w obszarze logistyki związane jest z rozwojem sfery usługowej obejmującej przepływy fizyczne, informacyjne oraz finansowe ważne dla podmiotów wielu sektorów gospodarczych. Rosnąca złożoność procesów biznesowych w gospodarce zglobalizowanej opartej na wiedzy w środowisku gospodarczym o komplikujących się powiązaniach kooperacyjnych, zmusza menedżerów do wspomagania procesów decyzyjnych nowoczesnymi narzędziami technologii informacyjnej (IT). Ważną funkcję wspomagającą o szczególnym znaczeniu spełniają zintegrowane systemy zarządzania zapewniające spójność i kontrolę realizacji procesów zewnętrznych i wewnętrznych w działalności przedsiębiorstw. Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie roli zintegrowanych systemów zarządzania postrzeganych jako narzędzia wspomagające procesy logistyczne w biznesie. Ukazana zostanie specyfika działalności wybranej organizacji gospodarczej wymuszająca na kadrze zarządczej realizację zadań o charakterze jednostkowym, wręcz unikatowym. Na tle rozwoju systemów zintegrowanych metodą studium przypadku przedstawione zostaną rozwiązania efektywnie wspomagające zarządzanie w obszarach zakupów, dostaw i utrzymania ruchu w badanym przedsiębiorstwie ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem procesów logistycznych.

Dynamics growth in the area of logistics is the effect of physical, material and financial flows which are important for many branches of economy. The growth in business process complexity in a global economy raised at knowledge and complicated cooperation liaisons what forces management to support making decisions with modern IT tools. Important part of taking decision are management integrated systems which are preserving care and control on internal and external processes in companies. The aim of this article is to present the role of management systems as tools supporting logistic processes in business. Specification of selected company which has influence at managers about specified role at company was described. In the paper the case study effectively assisting ordering the supplies, shopping, supplies and rotation solutions at company with mainly role of logistics, in area of integrated management systems, was presented.
