NATO standardization documents are the basis for action in many areas of NATO military activity and their affiliated organizations. The development of the NATO standardization documentation has been on-going for more than 60 years, and their content provides a reliable basis for joint action in a unified manner, enabling interoperability in many areas of NATO operations. The article is divided into three parts, the first of which deals with the general principles of NATO standardization, the second part describes the standardization documents related to the measurement of the ship’s signatures in aspect of the mine countermeasures and the third describes the participation in research project of NATO — RIMPASSE 2011 Trial. One of the their task was to verify and update NATO standardization documents including AMP-15.

Dokumenty standaryzacyjne NATO są podstawą działania w wielu obszarach aktywności wojsk NATO i stowarzyszonych z nimi organizacji. Rozwój dokumentacji standaryzacyjnej NATO trwa od ponad sześćdziesięciu lat i ich zawartość stanowi rzetelną podstawę do wspólnego działania w zunifikowany sposób, umożliwiając interoperacyjność w wielu dziedzinach działań wojsk NATO. Artykuł podzielono na trzy części, z których pierwsza przybliża ogólne zasady normalizacji w NATO, druga zawiera opis dokumentów standaryzacyjnych związanych z pomiarami pól fizycznych okrętu oraz obroną przeciwminową, trzecia zaś opisuje udział w projekcie badawczym NATO — badania RIMPASSE 2011, którego jednym z zadań była weryfikacja i aktualizacja dokumentów standaryzacyjnych NATO, w tym AMP-15.

This article briefly presents a description of the historic use of the Puck Bay area to test military equipment, and the history of the Polish Navy Control and Measurement Unit, main tasks and facility. The aim of this presentation is to bring together participants in the symposium of the general background of activities in the area of hydroacoustics many times presented previously. In addition, the present symposium is devoted to the memory of Capt. Ignacy Gloza, who has served here for many years. Finally, the traditional annual tour organized during the symposium this year took place in the waters of the Puck Bay, and one of the aims of this presentation is to bring the participants closer to what they see.

This article presents a new approach for the data compression and clustering of one-third octave spectrum by using "acoustical colours". Using in-situ measurements by the IGLOO – sensor nodes it can show that this approach allows a clustering of the colors for a quick look classification. This is helpful using wireless acoustical transmissions with restricted transfer volume in underwater sensor networks without jamming their own measurements.

Gromadzenie sygnatur jednostek pływających jest niezbędnym elementem zadań związanych z technologiami niskiej wykrywalności okrętów realizowanymi przez wszystkie marynarki wojenne. Umiejętność wykorzystania tzw. sygnatur obiektów morskich decyduje o skuteczności systemów obrony przeciwminowej, systemów wykrywania, systemów klasyfikacji i identyfikacji oraz niskiej wykrywalności własnych platform morskich. Rozwijanie systemów logistycznych związanych z gromadzeniem sygnatur jednostek pływających jest obecnie szeroko rozwijane w państwach NATO. Ciągłe testowane i wdrażanie nowych elementów systemu logistycznego zapobiega powstawaniu tzw, luk technologicznych w tym obszarze. Artykuł opisuje niezbędne elementy systemu logistycznego pozyskiwania i wykorzystywania sygnatur dolnej półsfery okrętów w aspekcie bezpieczeństwa żeglugi.

Collecting signatures of vessels is an essential task associated with ships low detection technologies carried out by all navies. Ability to use the so-called signature offshore determines the effectiveness of the mine warfare systems, detection, classification and identification, and low detectability of their offshore platforms. Developing logistics systems associated with the collection of signatures of vessels is now widely developed in NATO countries. Continuous testing and implementation of new elements of the logistics system prevents the formation from so-called technological gaps in this area. The article describes the essential elements of the logistic acquisition system and use of lower hemisphere signature of ships in terms of safety of navigation.

The article presents the aspects of personnel and facility security principles for classified Information Security Management System (ISMS) implemented within the realization of European Defence Agency research and technology projects. In the contents of article, authors characterised the rules and procedures, resulting from the legal acts, which regulates procedures of handling and exchanging of classified information, obtained during the realisation of research process. Special attention has been focused on the European Defence Agency projects during which, wide range of international participants have to implement, not only efficient but also common ISMS for all membership countries, to be able to fulfil all legal requirements for classified and sensitive information.

Artykuł przedstawia aspekty bezpieczeństwa osobowego i przemysłowego w ramach organizacji systemu zarządzania bezpieczeństwem informacji wdrażanego podczas realizacji projektów naukowo-badawczych Europejskiej Agencji Obrony. Autorzy charakteryzują procedury oraz zasady wynikające z aktów prawnych regulujących obszar związany z ochroną informacji niejawnych przetwarzanych w procesie realizacji projektu naukowo-badawczego. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na wielonarodowe projekty naukowo-badawcze wspierane przez Europejską Agencję Obrony, gdzie organizatorzy procesu zarządzania projektem muszą wykreować i wdrożyć wspólny system zarządzania bezpieczeństwem informacji, który jest nie tylko skuteczny, ale również spełnia wszelkie wymogi formalnoprawne wynikające z regulacji kształtujących zasady postępowania z informacjami niejawnymi oraz wrażliwymi.

From 2012 The Polish Naval Academy take part in an international research project SIRAMIS, carried out in the framework of the European Defence Agency. The objective of this project is to improve the understanding of ship signature interaction with multi influence sensors in relevant and realistic scenario's. This paper describes selected results of the comparison results of sea trials and model calculations of the hydrodynamic field distribution around a moving ship in selected waters of The Gulf of Gdansk. Despite the good results of the comparison of calculations and measurements of pressure signature on the example of a passenger ship, some measurements deviate significantly from the theoretical results. Due to the lack of reproducibility of these deviations may be due to errors in reading real position of underwater measurement modules. This comparison allows increasing the reliability of theoretical calculations by the results of measurements, and it is expected that the development of this method allows determining the parameters of the pressure under the hull at any point situated at a distance of not more than 1 meter from the seabed.

Noise propagation generated by a moving ship in shallow water is always associated with energy loss because of absorption and the fact that sound is scattered by medium inhomogeneities, also resulting in a decrease of sound intensity with range. Furthermore sound propagation is strongly dependent on fluid space geometry and dimension, as well as reflection and transmission loss through the sea bottom. The geometrical dimensions of the measured ship and shallow water are comparable. The depth of water is usually less than the length of the ship, so machinery vibration - due to propulsion machinery and auxiliary machinery - acoustic noise in the compartments below the waterline, flow noise and propeller noise are not generated by the hull of the ship from one point only. Hydroacoustic measurement range is designed with the purpose of exploiting and distinguishing these effects because of the amount of information they each bring; they allow to identify a different class of ship, although interpretation of spatial distribution is very difficult because of sound propagation in shallow water. This paper presents experimental research into the noises of moving ships, measured on the sea bottom, with reflection about the influences of sound propagation on the results of underwater acoustic measurement ranges.

In this paper were presented results of preliminary research of the fault diagnosis of natural gas engine-driven compressor by vibration analysis. Natural gas engine-driven compressors are heavily exploited during delivering natural gas to the transmission network of Poland. Every failure brings about interferences to gas system, furthermore it causes notably cost of maintenances. The major failures are piston seizures and overly level of vibration causes by exceedingly wear, an unbalanced engine after repairs and dry friction. During research investigated three natural gas engine-driven compressors. Acceleration of engine cylinders was measured in cylinder axis and perpendicularly axis and acceleration of compressor cylinders, engine fundament and gas receiver in three axes. Results obtain during investigation of engine cylinders one gas engine-driven compressor collates with results of validation of engine cylinders after their stripping. Preliminary results of investigation indicate proper trend to set up diagnostic symptoms. It was found that for increasing of information amount is necessary to carry out synchronous measurements and its envelops in domain of crankshaft rotation angle. Very important source of diagnostic information can be shaft acceleration, determined basing on existing system of signals generation. The investigation is to be continued.

The paper presents the experimental research associated with hydroacoustic multisensor array which is used for positioning object in water environment. Moreover, the paper presents the methodology of determination of target localization from bearing angles, and its accuracy. The construction of multi-sensor array consist of four hydrophones and it has a shape of a tetrahedron. This three-dimensional array is well known as a good solution of passive sonar and it is made of four elements assumed to have identical features and lying on a plane. The position of each hydrophones in a tri dimensional coordinate system correspond to the direction of the arriving acoustic plane wave. These features cause that the tetrahedral antenna has significant civil and military applications.

Moreover, the paper present the methodology of determination of acoustics energy from the main mechanisms of ship into the water environment. For that purpose the research of noise spatial distribution of the ship were conducted along the hydroacoustic field. This research allowed to determine ship signature spatial distribution of chosen main mechanisms on the bottom of sea.

This research allowed to determine position of the main noises' sources of acoustics energy of machinery and propulsion system depending on class of ships and to designate spatial distribution of noise generated by hull of moving ship.

Nowoczesne maszyny torowe posiadają skomplikowane układy hydrauliczne współpracujące ze sterowaniem elektronicznym, co zapewnia bardzo dobre walory użytkowe. Cechuje je wysoka niezawodność. Niestety w przypadku awarii, ze względu na dużą ilość współpracujących podzespołów, jednoznaczne wytypowanie uszkodzonego jest zwykle trudne. Producenci maszyn i eksploatujący podejmują różne kroki dla usprawnienia procesu diagnozowania i napraw. Jednym z takich kroków jest opracowana przez autora koncepcja układu do monitorowania i diagnozowania podbijarki torowej 09-32 CSM wyprodukowanej przez firmę Plasser&Theurer.

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań nad systemem oceny zdatności zestawu zasilania elektrycznego do wytwarzania energii elektrycznej o wymaganej jakości. W badaniach zastosowano metodę eksperymentu biernego i czynnego, dzięki czemu można było ustalić aktualny stan techniczny badanego obiektu i jego podatność diagnostyczną w relacji defekt – symptom.

The paper presents the results of investigations into estimation of usability of electric power supply set for generating electric power of high quality. In the investigations the method of passive and active experiment were used which allowed for determining the current technical condition of the object under investigation and its diagnosticability in the defect – symptom relationship.

Od hydraulicznego napędu jazdy roboczej podbijarki torowej 09-32 CSM (rys. 1) wymaga się precyzyjnego dopasowania wymaganej prędkości jazdy do realizacji funkcji roboczych. Napęd ten składa się: z pompy 1 (wielotłoczkowej osiowej z wychylną tarczą typu PV-23 firmy Sauer Danfoss [7] o geometrycznej objętości roboczej 89 cm3/obr.) oraz dwóch gerotorowych silników hydraulicznych 2, 3 (firmy Sauer Danfoss typu OMV [8] o geometrycznej objętości roboczej 400 cm3/obr.).

The article presents the investigations of influence of vibration of generating sets on the hydroacoustic spectrum’s structure generated through hull of ship to water environment. The investigations were conducted on anchor and during movement of the ship, with characteristic parameters of movement of the ship. The influence of change of speed governor driving engine was considered on produced the voltage’s frequency under of load variations the ship’s electrical system. It the tests, there were conducted the vibrations’ measurements on engine-bed of the individual generating set, on the ship’s hull of directly under sets, as well as the measurements of underwater noise under hull of ship. The analysis consist with the qualification of levels of the measured parameters and the changes spectrum’s vibrations of underwater noise as well as their correlations. It was analysed with possible exploational states of the ship, number of working generating sets, and thei reconfigurations. In the papier we described the guidelines to methodology of investigations of generating sets near state exploational variables of the ship. This joins closely with qualification of possible state of exploational ship, which is important for military regards.
