The article presents the issue of sustainable development in the building process. Three selected housing and service buildings were analysed in detail. The example of these objects determines the impact of the construction process on such elements of the environment as: people, water, land surface, noise and atmosphere. The work lists all the elements that positively affected the realization of investment, but also indicates the areas where additional improvements should be introduced to minimize the impact on the environment.
