The article presents the results of a study performed to identify the readiness of hospitals in Poland to absorb the advanced IT supported solution of drug distribution and application. The staff of wards, hospital pharmacies as well as the management in four selected hospitals was interviewed using specially designed questionnaires. The study reveals the present state of IT support as well as the attitude, expectations and fears of the hospital personnel in relation to more advanced IT solutions.
