The aim of the article is to discuss the role of using biocides in to the drilling muds and fracturing fluids and selection of biocidal products under certain circumstances. The problem of enzymatic decomposition of organic blockers is also presented. This article also concerns nitrate-based treatment in underground gas storage. This technology is applied for limiting activity of sulfate-reducting bacteria (SRB) which are responsible for a natural gas sulphurization. Also, attention was paid to the problem of environmental protection in the oil and gas industry which including issues related to a bioremediation of soils contaminated with petroleum products. The discussed matters can create a broad perspectives in future applications of phytoremediation methods, as well as attempts to combined it with the previous method based on using selected autochthonic microorganisms.
