Architecture is constituted by a set of immaterial ideas - the works. These ideas are being realized and concretized through buildings and structures. Therefore, architecture is a world of fiction. It is not a world of phenomena, but a world of noumena. The creator plays an especially important role. The notional separation of the work from its carrier (corpus mechanicum) is the key element of this definition of architecture.
