Opisano przypadek poważnego uszkodzenia łożyska nośnego pionowego hydro-generatora dużej mocy. Dokonano analizy stosowanego systemu monitorowania i zabezpieczeń dla łożysk oporowych, opisano przyczyny zbyt wolnego zadziałania systemu zabezpieczeń oraz sformułowano wytyczne dla bardziej efektywnego systemu zabezpieczeń.

A serious thrust bearing failure of a high power vertical hydro-generator is described. Analysis of the applied monitoring and protection system for the thrust bearings is provided. Slow response time of the protection system is investigated. A guideline for the more efficient protection system is provided.

Представлен математический аппарат и численные результаты иллюстрирующие возможность использования кватернионов (параметров Родрига-Гимильтона) для описания вращательного движения Беспилотажный Летающий Аппарат (БИЛА) рассматриваемого как твердое тело. По сравнению с другими способами описания кинематики вращательного движения летательного аппарата использование кватернионов имеет то преимущество, что позволяет избежать появления особенностей в кинематических уравнениях.

This paper has been written to present mathematical apparatus and computational results, illustrated the possibility of utilization of quaternions (Rodriguez-Hamilton parameters) to description of spin movement of UAV, treated as rigid body, in comparison to different methods of description of spin movement kinematics of flying vehicles the quaternions utilization has that superiority that it allow to avoid appearing singularity in kinematics' equations.

Artificial neural network (ANN) capabilities are analyzed for some problems associated with UAV motion control. A compact and effective representation is built for nonlinear UAV motion model using ANN. The representation is used to adjust dynamical properties for UAV considered as control object. Desired UAV properties are described by means of nonlinear reference model. An approach offered is tested computationally by solving of longitudinal short-period UAV motion control problem.

This paper deals with the following mathematical models of the parachute system(PS): - Mathematical model of the PS motion at the inflation and descent stages, - Mathematical model of the parachute inflation, When solving the considered problems the descending object is assumed to be a solid body, the parachute canopy has a symmetrical form, and the PS moves a calm atmosphere at a subsonic speed. The PS motion at the stages of inflation and decent is described by a system of ordinary differential equations. A model of the PS inflation is described in terms of the theory of soft permeable shells reinforced by flexible ribbons. The mathematical models used in calculations allow for finding a trajectory, determination of the kinetic parameters of the PS motion, and computation of the forces acting in the canopy structural elements and forces acting in the joint between the parachute and body.

This paper is a description of the computer simulation and the first experimental results on an AIC-144 isochronous cyclotron new extraction system. The cyclotron will be able to generate beams of protons, deuterons and alfa particles. One of the principal goals of the upgraded facility is to extract beams of protons and deuterons (proton energy 60 MeV, deuteron energy 30 MeV) for proton radiotherapy and for fast neutron beams. The precession method for particle extraction was chosen as the best one. It is the first time that the proton beam of energy 35 MeV has been extracted from the AIC-144 cyclotron with an efficiency of above 50%. More careful adjustment of the extraction system parameters (better control of the 1st harmonic of the magnetic field and the position of the deflectors) will permit an increase in the extraction efficiency to the design value of 70%.
