In cultural landscape there is a human sensation the surrounding of daily subsistence one of the most important issue. The aim of the project is to analyze and evaluate the different scenarios of resumption very specific landscape in Sokolov basin. The territory has a character open and soft landscape till the start of mining in the 1830-1840. The main raw material - brown coal had been minend till the year 2000. The whole area went through very intensive changes and now there are efforts to re-establish the functions and stabile landscape. After mining survive there huge pit which special liking for rise new important element of this landscape - Lake Medard. This new trend-making element bears a lots of variable ways of usage: recreational role (children play arena, sands), commercially recreational role (golf course, roller-skates line, port), hotel services and conferential centre, college campus and many others. One of the different way is to leave in the lake and leave it to natural development. Till this time nobody ask the people which lives in the surrounding of incoming Lake Medard: 'What do you wish?' or 'What is your opinion to Lake Medard and its utilization?' Our aim is consider determinant functional element of this area - natural, cultural and social with regard to human well-being and evaluate partly scenarios of renewal this very specific landscape.

W krajobrazie kulturowym skłonność człowieka do zmian otoczenia, w którym żyje jest jedną z najważniejszych kwestii. Celem projektu jest analiza i ocena różnych scenariuszy odnowienia krajobrazu niecki Sokolov. Teren ten miał charakter otwartego i łagodnego krajobrazu aż do uruchomienia górnictwa w latach 1830-1840. Główny surowiec - węgiel brunatny był tu wydobywany do roku 2000. Cały teren przeszedł bardzo intensywne zmiany i obecnie prowadzone są działania mające przywrócić te funkcje i stabilny krajobraz. Po kopalniach pozostała ogromna odkrywka, w której pojawił się nowy ważny element tego krajobrazu - jezioro Medard. Ten nowy element można wykorzystać na wiele sposobów: rekreacyjnie (tereny dla dzieci, plaże), rekreacyjnie i komercyjnie (pole golfowe, trasy wrotkarskie, port), usługi hotelowe i centrum konferencyjne, kampus uniwersytecki i wiele innych. Jednym z innych sposobów jest pozostawienie jeziora naturalnemu biegowi wydarzeń. Tym razem nikt nie pyta ludzi mieszkających w pobliżu powstającego jeziora Medard: 'Czego chcecie?' albo 'Co myślicie o jeziorze Medard i jego wykorzystaniu?' Naszym celem jest rozważenie decydujących funkcjonalnie elementów tego terenu - przyrody, kultury i zjawisk społecznych w odniesieniu do dobrobytu człowieka i częściowa ocena scenariuszy odnowienia tego bardzo specyficznego krajobrazu.
