W artykule przedstawiono założenia i cele rozpoczynającego się 7. Programu Ramowego Wspólnoty Europejskiej. Zaprezentowano główne obszary tematyczne, w ramach których instytucje i naukowcy mogą ubiegać się o dofinansowanie ze środkow Unii Europejskiej. Ponadto, autorzy omówili instrumenty oraz podział środkow przewidzianych w budżecie 7. PR według ustalonych priorytetów. Scharakteryzowano oczekiwania Polski co do partycypacji w 7. Programie Ramowym. Wskazane zostały również obszary zainteresowania polskich instytucji dziedzinami badań objętych 7. PR. Krótko opisano perspektywy uczestnictwa Instytutu Obróbki Plastycznej w projektach 7. Programu Ramowego.

In the article, the assumptions and objectives of the starting 7th Framework Programme are presented. Main thematic areas, within which institutions and researchers may apply for the European Union financial grants, are shown. Moreover, the authors discuss instruments and the 7th FP budget distribution according to the established priorities. Poland’s expectations regarding the participation in the 7th FP are characterized. In addition, Polish expressions of interest on the research areas included in the 7th FP are indicated. A brief description of the Metal Forming Institute’s prospects for participation in the Programme’s projects is given.

W artykule przedstawiono ogólną charakterystykę 5. Programu Ramowego: Badań, Rozwoju Technologicznego i Demonstracji Wspólnot Europejskich (the Fifth European Community Framework Programme for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration activities) (5.PR) oraz działań Instytutu Obróbki Plastycznej, jako koordynatora jednego z projektów. Krótko scharakteryzowano realizowane w Instytucie w ramach programu GROWTH (Konkurencyjny i Zrównoważony Wzrost) projekty o akronimach INT-PULS-FORM, INETFORSMEP oraz NAS-TRIBO. Omówiono także doświadczenia w administrowaniu tymi projektami oraz trudności, na jakie może natknąć się uczestnik programów ramowych, a przede wszystkim ich koordynator.

The article presents a general characteristic of the Fifth European Community Framework Programme for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration Activities (5th FP) and the actions of the Metal Forming Institute as the co-ordinator of one of the projects. A short description of the projects with acronyms, INT-PULS-FORM, INETFORSMEP and NAS-TRIBO, realized by the Institute within the GROWTH programme (Competitive and balanced growth), is also included. Experience in administering of those projects is discussed as well as difficulties which a participant of the projects, particularly their co-ordinator can meet.
