The article presents the effect of the effective microorganisms and silver compounds addition on the flash point of new and used oil. The work describes environmentally friendly additives to engine oil. Next the ignition point of the engine oil were described. In the further part, the research stand and methodology were presented. In the main part of the article the flash point values for new and used oil compared to oils with the effective microorganisms and silver compounds addition were shown. New and used oil samples were mixed with effective microorganisms in the form of a liquid (2.5 ml and 5 ml) and ceramic tubes (3 pcs and 6 pcs). In addition, silver solution and silver compounds were mixed in the same amounts as the liquid effective microorganisms. In summary it was stated, that adding of the effective microorganisms to the fresh oil in liquid form causes the flash point to drop significantly. It follows that effective microorganisms in liquid form have a very negative effect on the properties of the oil. In the case of microorganisms in the form of ceramic tubes, which in this larger amount slightly increase this point compared to oil without additives. Regardless of the type of silver and its quantity, very low flash point values were obtained. For used oil the best results are obtained with the addition of microorganisms in liquid form. For the used oil the addition of silver compounds does not have the beneficial effect of restoring the original properties.

The study aims to examine the antibacterial efficiency of cotton fabrics loaded with silver cyclo hexane mono or di carboxylates (silver naphthenates). After the synthesis of silver naphthenates, their chemical structures were analysed with spectrophotometric methods (IR and NMR). Then the usage possibility of Ag naphthenates as an antibacterial agent in the finishing of cotton fabrics was investigated. Their antimicrobial activity against three gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) nd three gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Enterococcus faecalis) bacteria were studied. The stability of the antibacterial effect after repeated washings (1-5-10-20) was also tested.

Badania miały na celu określenie antybakteryjnej wydajności tkanin bawełnianych nasycanych cyklohexanem mono i di-karboxylanów (nafteniany srebra). Po syntezie związków badano ich strukturę chemiczną metodami spektrofotometrycznymi IR i NMR, następnie możliwości zastosowania otrzymanych związków srebra jako środków antybakteryjnych dla wykończania tkanin bawełnianych. Badano antybakteryjną aktywność przeciwko trzem bakteriom gram-ujemnych (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) oraz trzech bakterii gram-dodatnich (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Enterococcus faecalis) testowano również stabilność efektu antybakteryjnego po wielokrotnym (1, 5, 10, 20) praniu.

W pracy podjęto próbę zastosowania nanocząstkowego, elementarnego srebra osadzonego metodą fotoredukcji na powierzchni dwutlenku tytanu o strukturze anatazu jako biocydu dla powłok farb wodorozcieńczalnych. Anataz posiada właściwości sensybilizujące proces fotoredukcji srebra z roztworów jonowych. Srebro osadzone na powierzchni anatazu, po oddzieleniu od roztworu, emulgowano przy założonych stężeniach wagowych w wodorozcieńczalnej farbie fasadowej i badano pleśnioodporność nałożonych powłok.

The test of deposited by fotoreduction on anatase surface nanoparticle, elementary silver application as the biocide for waterborne paint coatings was carried out. Anatase sensitize the process of silver fotoreduction from ionic solutions. Silver deposited on anatase after separation from solution was emulsified in waterborne building paint with fixed mass concentrations. The mould resistance of applied paint coatings was investigated.

W pracy przedstawiono sposób modyfikacji warstwy wierzchniej multiblokowych poli(alifatyczno/aromatycznych-esterów) (PED) solą sreba oraz omówiono wpływ warunków tego procesu na właściwości mechaniczne badanych polimerów. Efektywność procesu nanoszenia srebra na powierzchnię kopolimerów w celu uzyskania aktywności biologicznej została potwierdzona testami bakteriologicznymi.

The sufrace modification of poly(aliphatic/aromatic-ester) (PED) copolymers with a silver salt and the influence of this process on the mechanical properties is presented. The biological activity of modified polymers has been confirmed by the bacteriological tests.

The results of computer simulation of the outcomes of scattering, fluorescence and absorption of actinic light inside the hypothetical light-sensitive layer containing the silver halide crystals and fluorescent substance are presented. It has been assumed that the modelled layer is exposed exclusively to the radiation of the wavelength belonging to the intrinsic sensitivity range of silver halide. The quantitative dependence of the effective light absorption by the silver halide on the fluorescent substance concentration, the layer thickness, quantum efficiency of fluorescence and the ratio of the absorption probability of a photon of wavelength belonging to the sensitized sensitivity range and the absorption probability of a photon of the wavelength from the intrinsic sensitivity range has been examined. Also, the dependence of the modulation transfer function curve on the above parameters has been studied. The results obtained indicate that under some circumstances an addition of fluorescent substance can enhance the photosensitivity of the layer and improve simultaneously the sharpness of the recorded image.
