An application of the Jones-Wilkins-Lee (JWL) equation of state was proposed for description of physical properties of detonation products of an explosive with initial density [rho]o, lower than the maximal density [rho]e . It was assumed that isentrope of detonation products of explosive with density [rho]o is expressed by the same formula as that used for material with density [rho]e. Using the proposed model, the values of parameters of normal detonation waves in the chosen explosives were determined. In addition, there was given also the simplified equation of state that can be used for description of physical properties of detonation products in the case when we have small number of the data characterizing an explosive is known. It was shown how, using the known experimental data, one could determine the values of constant coefficients in the equation of state.
