Glocal affairs teams (GATs) in transnational companies: dimensions within strategies

More and more companies use teams with a multicultural background to implement their worldwide strategies. As the shift from international team management towards transnational team management becomes evident, multinational corporations (MNC) call into existence glocal (global + locaI) affairs teams (GATs) that are to support and develop the transnational approach. Thus, the main goal of this article is to discuss some specific implications that this shift involves. In the mainstream of interest are three contingency variables influencing on GAT performance: corporate strategies, local strategies and glocal dimensions of team. The latter ones cover task type and human diversity with reference to culture, function and individual uniqueness. This theoretical study results in proposing the Contingency Model of Transnational Team Performance. The main conclusion is that managing GAT demands matching and proceeding the team's characteristics from MNC and HRM strategies within global and local dimensions and the level of team performance depends on finding the best fit between these strategies and team diversity.

W tym kontekście głównym celem autorki artykułu jest zaprezentowanie roli, jaką odgrywają zespoły transnarodowe oraz wskazanie najistotniejszych determinantów ich funkcjonowania, na które składają się: strategie korporacyjne, strategie lokalne oraz glokalne wymiary samego zespołu.
