Concept of bone fracture healing measure used load measuring in external fixators

The measurement of osteogenesis gives the possibility to more precise diagnostics of the fractures, and can be also applied to the computer techniques like e.g. artificial intelligence. The treatment of long bone fractures by external fixators affords an unique opportunity to control the healing of the fracture by measuring the tension on the frame, that occurs under the load given to the bone and rely on the mechanical properties of the fracture. The paper presents some information about one of the diagnosis method using to the bone fracture healing.

Rozwój cywilizacji i techniki, w tym motoryzacji prowadzi do znacznego wzrostu złamań narządów ruchu, a ich leczenie stanowi poważny problem społeczny. Istnieje wiele metod leczenia złamań, jako że należą one do najstarszych w historii medycyny. Osteosynteza zewnętrzna z wykorzystaniem ortopedycznych stabilizatorów zewnętrznych stanowi obecnie jedną z najnowocześniejszych metod leczenia złamań kości. W dalszym ciągu prowadzone są prace nad nowymi konstrukcjami i materiałami do wykonywania stabilizatorów zewnętrznych. Referat przedstawia nowe rozwiązania konstrukcyjne i materiałowe stabilizatorów zewnętrznych do zespalania kości i metody modelowania i symulacji wykorzystane do ich projektowania.

Development of the civilization and technology, especially the motor transport, causes a significant increase of fractures of the motion organs, and their treatment is a serious social problem. There are many methods of fracture healing since they belong to the oldest group in the history of medicine. At present, the external osteosynthesis with application of external orthopaedic fixators is one of the most modern methods of healing bone fractures. There are still carried out studies on new designs and materials the external fixators are made of. The papers presents new designs and material solutions of external fixators for fixing bone fragments as well as modeling and simulation methods used in order to design them.

W pracy przedstawiono projekt stanowiska do oceny i analizy porównawczej przemieszczeń odłamów kostnych podczas montowania stabilizatora Polfix 144-44, mocowanego z użyciem zwy-kłych wkrętów oraz wkrętów w postaci grotów Kirschnera. Przeprowadzone badania nad ruchomo-ścią pozwalają stwierdzić, że istniejące rozwiązania konstrukcyjne stwarzają ryzyko występowania wtórnych przemieszczeń odłamów, nie poddających się korekcji. Stwierdzono również, że wprowadzenie zmian konstrukcyjnych w sposobie mocowania wszczepów z konstrukcją stabilizatora, pozwala na repozycję łączonych odłamów po zmontowaniu stabilizatora.

The paper presents projects of measuring test position for estimations and comparative analy-sis of bone fragments dislocation after plate fixation with Polfix 144-44 stabiliser. The stabiliser is fixed with normal bone screw and special Kirschner's screw. Investigations that has been done pres-ent secondary dislocation risk of non-steaming correction in existing construction. Changes introduced into direction for clamping screw with stabiliser after stabilisation are allowed for correction fragments bone.
