Artykuł to druga część materiału na temat historii rozwoju i aktualnego stanu techniki zdalnie sterowanych pojazdów głębinowych(1). W tej części przedstawiono stan obecny tej techniki. Materiał powstał na skutek przeglądu dostępnej literatury oraz badań autora w archiwach brytyjskich i amerykańskich. Autor proponuje wielowątkowe spojrzenie na rozwój zdalnie sterowanych pojazdów głębinowych w wyniku którego początek ich rozwoju datuje na rok 1898. Ponadto wyodrębnia cztery okresy rozwojowe pojazdów: okres wynalazków, prototypów, pierwszego i drugiego podziału.

This article is the second part of the material about the development history and the current status of technique of underwater remotely operated vehicles technique. The present status of this technique is presented in the second part. The content is a result of a review of the accessible literature and the author’s research in the British and American archives. The author proposes the multi-layered look on the development of the ROVs as a results of which the beginning of their development dates back to 1898. Moreover, he distinguishes four development periods of the vehicles: period of inventions, period of prototypes, and periods of the first and second partition.

Artykuł, to pierwsza część materiału o historii rozwoju i aktualnym stanie techniki zdalnie sterowanych pojazdów głębinowych. W tej części przedstawiono historię rozwoju tej techniki. This article is the first part of the material concerning the history of the development and the current status of underwater remotely operated vehicles technique. The history of this technique development is this presented in the first part. The content is a result of a review of the accessible literature and the author’s research in the British and American archives.
