Extension and modernization of water-supply system needs careful analysis of existing state and influence of potential changes on system. On example of water-supply system of Nowy Sącz several solutions of actual engineering issues were presented. Solutions presented in this paper witch are connected with possibility of lowering water pressure, influence of designed water-tank and pump station and extension of the system were supported by multi variant analysis of issue. so deep analysis would not be possible without usage of modern computational algorithms included in ISYDYW application worked out in Institute of Water Supply at Cracow University of Technology. Simulation unit included in application gives a set of synthetic indicators that describe quality of given variant solutions and it allows comparing them in measurable way.
