Poddano analizie podstawowe tendencje rozwoju bazy zasobowej, jak zmiany w ilości złóż zagospodarowanych, wielkości zasobów przemysłowych, wydobycia z tych złóż oraz znaczenie poszczególnych rodzajów skał. Notowany jest stosunkowo powolny ubytek wielkości zasobów przemysłowych w dolnośląskich zagospodarowanych złożach kamienia łamanego. Wyczerpanie się dostępnych do eksploatacji zasobów może zaistnieć najwcześniej za 70-80 lat. Z drugiej strony w perspektywie najbliższych kilkunastu lat zamkniętych zostanie nawet kilkanaście czynnych obecnie kopalń. Stąd jednym ze sposobów na spowolnienie tempa rozwoju popytu na dolnośląskie kruszywa łamane jest intensyfikacja stosowania kruszyw alternatywnych, w szczególności kruszyw z żużli hutniczych. Obserwowany rozwój produkcji tych kruszyw jest bardzo pozytywny, ale po zagospodarowaniu żużli ze starych hałd, a więc za ok. 10 lat, ich, podaż może zmaleć nawet o ponad połowę.

The paper presents detailed chafacteristies of reserve base of crushed rock deposits in Lower Silesia. This region is traditional, as well as perspective main supplier of high-quality crushed aggregates for domestic market. Authors analyze of the basic tendencies of this reserve base development was presented. It contains: changes of quantity of developed deposits, quantity of available reserves, level of mining output, as well as importance of the main lithological types of rocks. Continuous, but slow decrease of the total level of available reserves is reported in case of developed deposits of crushed rock in Lower Silesia, but their exhaustion can appear not earlier than after 70-80 years period. However in the next dozen or so years, ten or even more existing mines will be shut down. One of the possibilities for slowing-down of development of demand for Lower Silesian crushed aggregates is intensification of alternative aggregates use, especially aggregates from metallurgical slag. Continuous growth of their production, observed in recent years, is a very positive phenomenon. However, after exhaustion of "old slag reserves" in ca. ten years period, this production can be diminished even by over a half. Assurance of supplies of high-quality Lower Silesian crushed aggregates in long-term period/may be achieved by production development in existing plants and by development of new deposits. Preliminary analysis of undeveloped deposits shows that it will be possible to develop only a dozen or so such deposits, due to environmental and spatial constraints. Perspectives of recognition of new crushed rock deposits in Lower Silesia, available for future development, are distinctly limited. So, Lower Silesia will remain the main supplier of high-quality crushed aggregates also for next generations, when sustainable development of Lower Silesian crushed aggregates industry will be assured, taking into account environmental constraints and spatial development of particular communes, but also future demand of domestic economy for crushed aggregates.
