Artykuł przedstawia propozycję innowacyjnego podejścia do wykonywania inspekcji obiektów mostowych z użyciem metodyki BIM. Proponowane rozwiązania staną się w przyszłości jednymi z głównych elementów nowoczesnych systemów gospodarowania mostami, które będą zgodne z filozofią Asset Management, czyli zarządzania aktywami w infrastrukturze.

The article presents a proposal of an innovative approach to bridge inspection using the BIM technology. At the beginning, the current practice and the tools used in this field are discussed. Attention is paid to the decreasing quality of bridge inspections, especially at the lower levels of the local infrastructure administration. Then the position of a bridge structure in the BIM data structure complying with the IFC4x2 standard is shown. The need to standardize the inspection process itself in compliance with this data storage format is emphasized, with the option of introducing an accreditation system of a quality system in accordance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17020 standard. The last section discusses new techniques of bridge inspections, which are based on the implementation of BrIM models and augmented reality tools. In the future, the proposed solutions will become one of the main elements of modern bridge management systems, which will be consistent with the asset management philosophy in infrastructure.
