A comparative assessment of the manufacturing processes of new generation pneumatic yarns with classic ring yarns was made. The considerations included spinning speed, the number of machines involved in the spinning process, the surface occupied by these machines, the size of their employment, and the energy consumption. It has been found that air jet spinning machines enable produce cotton yarns, man-made yarns of cotton type and blends cotton yarns with chemical fibers with very high spinning speeds up to 400 m/min and even up to 500 m/min. In addition, the production of yarns on pneumatic air-jet spun yarns provides the opportunity to integrate manufacturing roving, spinning and winding of yarn together with its cleaning processes into one single operation, resulting in significant savings in occupied areas, employment and energy consumption.
