Poland is not particularly vulnerable to natural disasters. However, land deformations can result from geological processes and human activity, especially mining. Currently, there is no uniform system for monitoring these phenomena in Poland, although systematic observation allows for early detection of changes and minimizes damage. The solution may be the use of remote sensing techniques, such as radar interferometry (InSAR). The Sentinel-1 mission, launched in 2014, and the European Ground Motion Service (EGMS), which has been operated since 2022, provide precise data on land movements. These data allow for the analysis of long-term deformation trends and their impact on the environment. As part of the project "Interferometric Monitoring of the Terrain Surface of Poland” (InMoTeP), these technologies were used to monitor deformations on a nationwide scale. The results include maps of subsidence and uplift of the terrain surface and detailed analyses of selected areas. InSAR data enable more effective risk management of geohazards and better protection of infrastructure and the environment.
