Thailand had a decline in traffic fatalities even though the estimate is only approximate. This study aims to examine the factors related to the motorcycling riding performance of 69 motorcyclists aged 60 and older in Khi Lek Subdistrict, Muang District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. Data were collected from interviews on driving behavior with the participants and their driving performance from the tests modeled on the Thai driving license test. Fisher’s Exact Test was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the elderly exhibited good motorcycle driving behavior (91.30 %); however, their riding ability was at the level of “need to be improved” (85.51%). They showed poor performance on the reflex test (72.46%) and the depth perception test (69.57%). The tests the participants passed were the color blindness test (100%) and the peripheral vision test (61.82%). This study also found that the average daily motorcycle driving distance (p-value = 0.045) and motorcycle driving experience (p-value = 0.036) of the older motorcycle riders were determined to be statistically significant factors. The findings are useful for responsible organizations to decide on road safety policies to lower the risks of accidents involving elderly motorcycle riders in Thailand. They could consider revoking lifetime driver’s licenses, providing training to promote safe driving techniques, and taking into account how the elderly’s riding performance is correlated to their average daily driving distance and driving experience.

Purpose: Competing for a limited number of socially conscious consumers and the appearance of new generations on the market forces a continuous addition of knowledge concerning pro-environmental and pro-social consumer attitudes and behaviour. Therefore, the present study attempts to: - identify the type of actions taken within the framework of sustainable development by selected clothing brands, - assess the pro-environmental and pro-social attitudes of young consumers purchasing clothing, - determine whether environmental and social aspects are a criterion for clothing choice among young consumers. Design/methodology/approach: Two approaches were used in the research. In the first stage of the research, messages posted on the websites of selected clothing brands were analysed. In the second, a quantitative study was conducted among young consumers (n = 218) by indirect online survey measurement, using a survey questionnaire embedded in a Google form. Findings: Young consumers present positive pro-environmental and pro-social attitudes. According to the respondents, the social commitment of companies influences the positive image and popularity of their products. However, almost half of all consumers presented an ambivalent or negative attitude towards paying more for the purchase of goods whose producers are involved in philanthropic and pro-environmental activities. This suggests that, in the view of this segment of respondents, it is the traders who should take financial responsibility for their actions by not raising the prices of the products they sell. Concern for others by purchasing socially committed brands and the environmental friendliness of the product were shown to rank lower in the hierarchy of clothing choice factors. Research limitations: The research was conducted on a narrow subject basis, so the results obtained cannot be generalised to the young consumer segment. The scope of the presented research is also limited. The results of the research should be regarded as a pilot study. Practical implications: The findings are of relevance to managers in charge of sustainability campaigns for clothing brands. They point to the need for further education aimed at shaping altruistic and pro-environmental attitudes. Originality/value: This study highlights that sustainability encompasses a range of activities with different ways of communicating values to consumers.

Dangerous and risky actions while traveling on traffic routes that threaten the health, spirit and life of vehicle drivers and others. However, to raise community awareness, make them care about traffic safety behavior takes time and influence attitudes to create behavior change in a sustainable way. Research based on Ajzen’s theory of planned behavior [1, 2] and the theory of social marketing was conducted to identify the factors influencing the road traffic attitudes and behaviors of people in Hanoi and the degrees of their influence. The results show that road traffic attitudes are affected, in descending order, by partnership, resources, distribution, promotion, price, product, and public. The road traffic behavior of people is determined, in descending order, by age, moderator variables (the law and the validity of the law and weather), attitude, and education level. Based on the results, several recommendations to government officials and policymakers have been made.

After the rapid economic growth through reform and opening-up over 40 years, Chinese governments are seeking transformation for high-quality and sustainable development currently. Regional economic development is related to internal and external environments as well as local government’s character behaviors. Employing Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Consciousness-Context-Behavior (CCB) theory, we construct a theoretical framework to measure the relationships between regional development environment (RDE), local government’s character behavior (LGCB), and regional sustainable capability (RSC). We collect the data of 30 provinces in mainland China from 2001 to 2020 to conduct hypothesis testing and empirical analysis. The results show that both RDE and LGCB are associated with RSC, and LGCB significantly mediates the relationship between RDE and RSC. However, the effects of different RDE elements on RSC are heterogeneous. Our study enriches regional sustainable development theory. It arouses us to better understand LGCB and attach importance to the roles of RDE and LGCB in regional sustainability. The enlightenment is important to global developing countries.

Po szybkim wzroście gospodarczym poprzez reformy i otwarcie w ciągu 40 lat, chińskie rządy dążą obecnie do transformacji w celu zapewnienia wysokiej jakości i zrównoważonego rozwoju. Regionalny rozwój gospodarczy jest powiązany z otoczeniem wewnętrznym i zewnętrznym oraz charakterem zachowań samorządu terytorialnego. Wykorzystując teorię programowania neurolingwistycznego (NLP) i świadomość-kontekst-behawior (CCB), konstruujemy ramy teoretyczne do pomiaru relacji między środowiskiem rozwoju regionalnego (RDE), zachowaniem charakteru samorządu lokalnego (LGCB) a zrównoważonym potencjałem regionalnym (RSC). Zbieramy dane z 30 prowincji w Chinach kontynentalnych od 2001 do 2020 roku, aby przeprowadzić testowanie hipotez i analizę empiryczną. Wyniki pokazują, że zarówno RDE, jak i LGCB są powiązane z RSC, a LGCB znacząco pośredniczy w relacji między RDE i RSC. Jednak wpływ różnych elementów RDE na RSC jest niejednorodny. Nasze badanie wzbogaca regionalną teorię zrównoważonego rozwoju. Pobudza nas to do lepszego zrozumienia LGCB i przywiązania wagi do roli RDE i LGCB w zrównoważonym rozwoju regionalnym. Oświecenie jest ważne dla globalnych krajów rozwijających się.

Coaching has emerged as a crucial tool, reshaping how managers lead and develop their teams. The aim of the paper was to identify differences and relationships in the perception of coaching attributes in managerial work in terms of selected socio-demographic indicators and personality types of managers. The research aim was to specify the relationships between managers' personality type, which was measured by the MBTI questionnaire, and perceptions of coaching attributes, which were assessed by the KESK questionnaire. The research sample consisted of 298 managers from different work areas and regions in Slovakia (185 women, 113 men with an average age of 31.2 years) - 175 had working meetings without a coaching approach and 123 with a coaching approach. The results show that different personality types of managers perceived the examined attributes differently. These differences were detected by the independent Kruskal-Wallis test, where statistically significant differences between personality types and coaching attributes were found in the Cognitions and Behaviour factors. The novelty of the research lies in using original MBTI and KESK methodologies exploring managerial perceptions of coaching attributes of Emotions, Behaviour, and Cognitions and their connections to selected sociodemographic indicators. Based on the research, managers can be advised to use a coaching approach in their work as an integral part of their communication with other employees.

Coaching stał się kluczowym narzędziem, zmieniającym sposób, w jaki menedżerowie prowadzą i rozwijają swoje zespoły. Celem artykułu była identyfikacja różnic i zależności w postrzeganiu atrybutów coachingu w pracy menedżerskiej w odniesieniu do wybranych wskaźników społeczno-demograficznych i typów osobowości menedżerów. Celem badawczym było określenie zależności pomiędzy typem osobowości menedżerów, mierzonym kwestionariuszem MBTI, a postrzeganiem atrybutów coachingu, ocenianych kwestionariuszem KESK. Próba badawcza składała się z 298 menedżerów z różnych obszarów pracy i regionów Słowacji (185 kobiet, 113 mężczyzn o średniej wieku 31,2 lat) - 175 odbyło spotkania robocze bez podejścia coachingowego, a 123 z podejściem coachingowym. Wyniki pokazują, że różne typy osobowości menedżerów inaczej postrzegały badane atrybuty. Różnice te zostały zidentyfikowane w oparciu o niezależny test Kruskala-Wallisa, w którym statystycznie istotne różnice między typami osobowości a atrybutami coachingu stwierdzono w czynnikach poznania i zachowania. Nowatorstwo badań polega na wykorzystaniu oryginalnych metodologii MBTI i KESK w celu zbadania postrzegania przez menedżerów atrybutów coachingowych Emocji, Zachowań i Poznawania oraz ich powiązań z wybranymi wskaźnikami społeczno-demograficznymi. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań można doradzić menedżerom, aby stosowali podejście coachingowe w swojej pracy jako integralną część komunikacji z innymi pracownikami.

The Covid pandemic and following restrictions worldwide influence various aspects -lockdown does not only have economic consequences but is also associated with a change in population mobility. As well as the spread of a pandemic and the associated numbers of infections and deaths, policy responses and restrictions have also varied from country to country. Despite all the negative impacts of the Covid pandemic, the decrease in crash-related injuries may be seen as one of the positive impacts of lockdown politics. The change in crash characteristics during the Covid lockdown may provide new insights and help design countermeasures for road safety improvement. It is not sufficient to generalize findings across individual countries, there were different trends in crash frequency and severity during the Covid lockdown The main purpose of this study was to investigate the Covid restriction's impact on road safety in the Czech Republic. The retrospective analysis was performed using data the Police crash statistics. In addition to data from the main Covid periods (2020 and 5 months of 2021 data), crash data from 2016-2019 as the period unaffected by the Covid pandemic, were used as a control group. The study focused not only on the overall crash frequency but also on the analysis of the crash frequency according to the individual crash participants. Crash data did not indicate significant changes in risky behaviour. The mobility decrease was associated with decreased crash frequency, especially of vehicles and pedestrians. The crash numbers also reflect changes in how people spend time, respectively an increase in leisure time activities in some age groups and a change in usage of transport modes. Two-wheeled vehicle users (cyclists, motorcyclists) crash frequency was more influenced by seasonality. While the crash frequency of vehicles (personal vehicles and HGVs) and pedestrians was better correlated with mobility data, the cyclists and motorcyclists crash frequency were better correlated with temperature.

Artykuł skupia się na problematyce prowadzenia badań dotyczących zachowań robotników na placu budowy. Omówione zostały zarówno metody pośrednie czyli głównie badania sondażowe, jak i badania prowadzone bezpośrednio w miejscu wykonywania prac (in situ). Szczególną uwagę poświęcono omówieniu wad i zalet metod bezinwazyjnych pomiarów prowadzonych przy zastosowaniu czujników radiowych i analizy obrazu wideo. Przeanalizowano podstawowe wymagania stawiane technologiom śledzenia ruchu robotników w czasie rzeczywistym.

This article focuses on the issues of conducting research on the behavior of workers on construction sites. Both indirect methods, i.e. mainly survey research, and research conducted directly at the work site (in situ) were discussed. Particular attention was paid to discussing the advantages and disadvantages of non-invasive measurement methods using radio sensors and video image analysis. The basic requirements for real-time worker tracking technologies were analyzed.

Beams and columns are one of the important structural elements of buildings to take up transverse loads such as axial load, bending moment, shear, and torsion. Present work is an experimental investigation on the shear, torsion, and axial load behavior of the structural members like columns and/or beams. The reinforced concrete members with 0, 30, and 60 kg/m3 of steel fibers were tested for torsion, shear and axial loading for this study. The twist angle, the load-deflection behavior, the ultimate shear strength, the torsional moment, and the critical moments were obtained for the loading type and steel fiber ratios. The results show that the increasing steel fiber ratio, increased the torsional moment capacity and decreased the shear strength capacity. On the other hand, increasing the steel fiber content increased the both axial load and moment capacity of RC columns. The shear strength and the torsional moment capacities are defined by the provision of current codes of practice such as ACI318-19, Eurocode-2, British, Australian and Turkish Standards.

By recognizing different meanings of place as well as influential parameters on the perception of place, it is possible to create a pleasant environment. This study aims to measure the factors contributing to the conception of place meaning and emotional experience of place. Also, it seeks to understand the mechanism of perceiving the different meanings and qualities of place from users’ point of view. The qualitative and quantitative methods were applied. In this regard, the emotional evaluation model of Pleasure-Arousal, interview, and questionnaire have been used. The study has been conducted on 3 buildings of Selcuk University in Turkey. The statistical population in the different groups consisted of architecture students. Results show that along with the emotional assessment of place, the factors such as morphological, sensory, and individual ones affect the user’s assessment, and there is a meaningful relationship between the emotional evaluation of place and factors forming the meaning of place. Furthermore, place quality and its aesthetic components play important role in individuals’ preferences and judgments and led to psychological pleasure and positive emotional assessment.

Sustainable development cannot be separated from business ethics and innovation. This study proposes to test the antecedent variable for brand supporting behavior, and explore the mediating mechanism of this factor for the influence of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on employee work innovation. With 173 questionnaires collected, the hierarchical regression model is used to test the hypotheses. Discoveries have shown that CSR practices are fundamental to brand support behavior, and the important mediating role of brand supporting behavior in the influence of CSR on employee work innovation. Research results have shown the need to implement CSR in the hospitality industry, including issues of environmental protection and community support; on ensuring the interests of customers, as well as employees in the organization. Therefore, it is essential to create a community-oriented organizational climate that promotes employees' efforts in delivering on the brand promise. This is the basis for spreading the image and attractiveness of the organization's brand, and stimulating employee work innovation. Therefore, the research results are a reliable basis in making the right decisions of hotel managers, in order to create advantages as well as improve competitiveness, contributing to the recovery of the economy after the Covid-19 pandemic. The research results are also the theoretical basis for developing research models on innovation in the hospitality industry.

This paper aims to study the behavior of using social networks by students and lecturers for learning and training purposes based on a literature review on this topic in different regions of the world in the past 10 years. The results of the review show that there is a difference in the technological behavior between lecturers and their students; which may reduce the effectiveness of educational activities. Based on the research finding, the author proposes some solutions to encourage teachers to use social networks for their work.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to diagnose attitudes and consumption behaviors among the young adults, regarding food consumption in Poland. Design/methodology/approach: 483 respondents took a part in the research. They were students of three Cracovian universities, representing all voivodships in Poland. The research instrument consisted of two types of questions: traditional closed survey questions and a series of projection questions, based on fictional characters, which the respondents had to assess and determine the degree of identification with the attitudes and behaviors described. Findings: The research revealed some akrasia. The relatively high level of awareness regarding the effects of unsustainable production and consumption of young adults did not translate into consumption behavior of a sustainable nature. The curiosity regarding origin of the product and its composition turned out to be low, as was the feeling of responsibility for their own decisions. There was a tendency to expect the transition of responsibility to food producers and the institutional environment. Young adults pay special attention to food prices and easy access to shopping. Local marketplaces are a niche shopping place. The majority of food is purchased in large-area stores, where consumers are not informed about the place of origin of food. The respondents group is characterized by high outside-diagonality, solutions forcing more sustainable behavior, for example, the payment for plastic bags, the need for recycling of waste meet with wide acceptance. Originality/value: The research revealed enforcing proecological behaviors by institutions seems to be a more effective than building consumer awareness.

The tribological properties of the nitride layer applied to the low-alloyed steel were investigated in this research. Experimental work included determination if the chemical composition, wear resistance, Rockwell, Vickers and nano-indentation tests, both of the substrate material – the low-alloyed steel and the deposited nitride layer. From the results obtained in those experiments authors concluded that applying the nitride layer does not significantly improve the tribological properties of the tested lowalloyed steel samples, thus this process is not recommended for achieving that purpose.

Coaching is one of the tools for the development of trade managers and the discovery of their hidden potential. It is a tool for seeking satisfaction, motivation, and effectiveness. The paper aims to identify the attributes of coaching assessment by trade managers. Its partial aim is to verify a new AC-BEC methodology - the assessment of coaching from the point of view of behaviour, emotions, and cognitions, three factors that were extracted in the research. The given methodology was created for the purpose of extending the range of possibilities for identifying the factors of coaching assessment by trade managers. The results show that managers operating in trade are willing to try new things, they want to develop personally and be more effective and in coaching, it is necessary to monitor and evaluate all attributes individually. It is not possible to look at this process as a whole.

Coaching to jedno z narzędzi rozwoju menedżerów handlowych i odkrywania ich ukrytego potencjału. To narzędzie do poszukiwania satysfakcji, motywacji i skuteczności. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja atrybutów oceny coachingu przez menedżerów handlowych. Jego częściowym celem jest weryfikacja nowej metodologii AC-BEC - oceny coachingu z punktu widzenia zachowań, emocji i poznania, trzech czynników, które zostały wyodrębnione w badaniach. Podana metodologia została stworzona w celu poszerzenia wachlarza możliwości identyfikacji czynników oceny coachingu przez handlowców. Wyniki pokazują, że menedżerowie działający w handlu chętnie próbują nowych rzeczy, chcą się rozwijać osobiście i być bardziej efektywni, aw coachingu konieczne jest indywidualne monitorowanie i ocena wszystkich atrybutów. Nie można spojrzeć na ten proces jako całość.

Cyberspace as a virtual venue for communication and information offers its users potentials the consequences of which can be debated from different angles. The critique coming from respectable professional sources highlights some of the risks in the system. Cyberspace has accelerated a fundamental transformation in consumption and increased the use of digital services. It reinforced digital business models’ dominant position at the expense of more traditional businesses. Tech giants showed how vital is big data and inferred data derived from the Internet users’ activity. Today hardly anyone can ridicule or dismiss as bizarre stories of censorship, malevolence, manipulation, fake news, fraud or actions of distinct ideological flavour. Hardly anyone mentions the fate of the human being who has drifted into the domain of illusion.

Cyberprzestrzeń jako miejsce wirtualne komunikacji i informacji oferuje swoim użytkownikom potencjał, którego konsekwencje mogą być debatowane pod różnymi kątami. Krytyka pochodząca z cenionych i profesjonalnych źródeł podkreśla niektóre ryzyka w systemie. Cyberprzestrzeń przyspieszyła fundamentalną przemianę w konsumpcji i zwiększyła wykorzystywanie usług cyfrowych. Wzmocniła dominującą pozycję cyfrowych modeli biznesu kosztem bardziej tradycyjnych biznesów. Giganci technologii pokazali jak ważne są big data i dane wywnioskowane, uzyskane z aktywności użytkowników Internetu. Dzisiaj niewielu może wyśmiewać albo odrzucić jako niedorzeczne historie cenzury, wrogości, manipulacji, fake newsów, oszustw czy też akcji o zabarwieniu ideologicznym. Niewielu wspomina o losie człowieka, który podryfował w domenę pozoru.

The limits of the present linear economy model (take-make-waste) are well illustrated by the textile and clothing sector, one of the most indispensable consumer goods industries. Although a huge increase in the number of publications on the circular economy can be observed, the number of papers analyzing consumers’ attitudes and behavior toward circular fashion, especially the ones comparing consumers from different regions, is still limited. The article aimed to assess consumers’ attitudes toward circular fashion and draw a cross country comparison in this respect. The research focused on the three pillars of the latest EU Sustainable Product Policy Framework, i.e., designing sustainable products, empowering consumers, and circularity in production processes. An online survey and convenience sampling were used to collect valid responses from two countries (i.e., Canada and Poland) with different cultures, levels of economic development, and approaches to environmental and social issues. The results showed that significant differences between the countries emerged to a greater extent regarding consumers’ attitudes toward environmental labels for fashion products and sustainable buying behavior. The Polish respondents perceived the need for such labels to a greater extent. The Canadian ones, on the other hand, turned out to be more willing to choose sustainable clothing and reduce consumption. The differences between the countries were much less conspicuous as regards circular cues and circularity in fashion production processes. They appeared only in the case of clothing durability and the impact of production processes on air quality. Those aspects turned out to be more important for Polish respondents.

To promote the application of aeolian sand resources for steel-concrete composite structures, an aeolian sand reinforced concrete column with I-shaped structural steel is proposed in this study. Four specimens are designed and manufactured with different replacement rates of aeolian sand. The seismic behaviour and damage evolution process of the specimens are studied by low-cycle repeated loading tests. Based on the test results, the mechanical characteristics, failure modes, hysteresis curves, skeleton curves, energy dissipation capacity, displacement ductility, and stiffness degradation of the specimens with different replacement rates of aeolian sand are analysed. In addition, the effects of the design parameters on the seismic behaviour of the specimens are also studied. The results show that the indexes of the seismic behaviour can be significantly improved by adding steel. Moreover, a revised damage model is proposed, to better reflect the evolution law of seismic damage of aeolian sand reinforced concrete columns with steel. The proposed model can provide an important reference for seismic damage assessment of the columns.

Ballast layer has weighty share in the lifecycle costs of railway track. The strict standards and maintenance rules of ballast grading significantly contribute to the ballast costs. One ways to the costs reduction is differential demands to ballast grading for the secondary and low loaded railway lines. Additional one is the different ballast grading over the ballast height. This study presents a full scale laboratory investigation of technical efficiency of such railway ballast under the long-term cyclic loading in comparison with the standard ballast layer. The double layer is presented with standard grading ballast upper layer and bottom sub ballast layer consists of ballast mixture. Pressure distribution under the ballast layer and permanent settlements of the layers are measured during the loading cycles. The reference measurements with standard grading ballast material are carried out. The study shows that initial settlement accumulation of the double layer railway ballast are lower to that of the standard ballast layer. However, the settlements accumulation intensity of the ballast is higher. The analysis of the pressure distribution measurements under the ballast layer and the settlements inside the ballast layer explain the causes of the different settlement accumulation.

In 2017 Executive Order 13800 was enacted for all federal entities to use the NIST Cybersecurity Framework to report on FISMA compliance. According to GAO-19-545 report sixteen agencies were identified as failing to successfully implement FISMA regulations rooted in information security policies (ISPs). This paper will introduce the link between information assurance awareness with the prescribed actions and its direct influence on information security policies. While organizations are conscious of the federal rules and regulations, most continue to fail to successfully implement and comply with the guidelines due to a sincere lack of information assurance and awareness, which ties directly into human behavior. A discussion on the intersection of information security awareness and behavior will be presented. The UTAUT theory measures and informs the researcher on factors that influence the end-user. Conclusively, recommendations will be offered on why organizations need to invest in a mechanism that measures these factors, which increases information awareness to change behavior, thus achieving better compliance with their organizational ISPs.

The tendency for people in Jakarta to use public transportation is still relatively low. A study from Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency shows that only 24 percent of road users chose public land transportation modes (Transjakarta bus and train) from a total of 47.5 million trips in Jabodetabek by 2015. Public transportation trips in Jabodetabek are all people's journeys or the journey to employee work destination located in buffer towns around Jakarta. Employees are among the elements of society that use public transportation. The economic conditions of factory employees that encourage them to work overtime cause differences in attitudes between factory employees and office employees toward using public transportation modes. This study aims to determine the factors that encourage factory employees to choose the mode of transportation to the workplace and analyze their attitude toward using public transportation mode. The results show that the number of factory employees who prefer public transportation mode is still little. However, their potential to move into public transportation is substantial due to the belief in the commitment of the Jakarta government to fixing the public transportation system. Most factory employees also agree that public transport can reduce congestion in Jakarta. There is a need to apply a strategy of the transit development (TOD) to reach public places and places of work.
