Fear of the invisible enemy, as is commonly called bacteria and viruses that disturb or take away health, has accompanied mankind for thousands of years. The article presents cases of illness caused by a biological factor among passengers and crew members on ships. The author mentioned incidents that have occurred in the past. Above all, however, the author’s considerations focused on the current situation (Pandemic COVID-19) the threat of biological factor on vessels.

W artykule przedstawiono przypadki zachorowań spowodowanych czynnikiem biologicznym wśród pasażerów i członków załóg na statkach. Wspomniano o incydentach, które miały miejsce w przeszłości. Wiodące rozważania Autora skupiły się na obecnej sytuacji (Pandemia COVID-19) zagrożenia czynnikiem biologicznym na jednostkach pływających.

Marine work conditions, differing from those on land, have been presented. The study has identified a multitude of factors generating physical and psychical effects on crew members, different cultural patterns and dangers which have to be overcome to reach the state when thinking of safety accompanies all performed activities. Creation of legislature and procedures and their observance have been presented as a basis for constructing safety culture and the sense of safety. Safety management, coordinated by ship owners, has been justified as activities to be realized on ships. It has been indicated in this study that building up safety culture among the members of the power plant crew of seafaring ships is the most important issue due to the fact that their work environment is unfriendly to humans and that there is a high fire risk in a ship power plant.

W artykule omówiony został wpływ braku kompetencji na każdym poziomie decyzyjnym na statku powodującego różne formy strat. Im wyższy poziom decyzyjny, tym wyższe prawdopodobieństwo wystąpienia kumulacji negatywnych zjawisk generowanych w wyniku błędnych decyzji w eksploatacji statku. Wyższy poziom kwalifikacji podnosi zdolność do przewidywania negatywnych zjawisk, ogranicza konsekwencje niewłaściwej eksploatacji i podnosi poziom bezpieczeństwa procesu eksploatacji statku w różnych jego aspektach.

Paper discussed the lack of competence at every decision level brings with it different forms of loss. A higher decision level generates a higher probability of cumulative negative phenomena generated by erroneous decisions. Higher qualification improves the ability to anticipate negative phenomena, reduces the consequences of improper operation, the consequences of a malfunction, and raises the level of safety of the ship's operation in various aspects.

W artykule omówiono znaczenie transportu załogi do i z rejonów wydobywczych, aktualnie stosowane sposoby transportu oraz zagadnienia związane z wprowadzeniem do stosowania0 nowego rozwiązania technicznego jakim jest mechaniczne urządzenia dla lokalnego, rewersyjnego przemieszczania załogi. Podkreślono rolę jaką spełniają wszelkie urządzenia wpływające na zmniejszenie wysiłku w trakcie dotarcia pracownika do miejsca wykonywanej pracy. Wskazano na możliwości dalszego rozwoju układów transportu opartego na mechanicznym urządzenia dla lokalnego, rewersyjnego przemieszczania załogi oraz konieczność poszukiwania innych innowacyjnych sposobów przemieszczania załogi w kopalniach.

In this paper the meaning of underground crew transportation to and from mining areas was discussed, as well as current underground means of transport and issues of introducing a new mechanical device for local reverse crew transportation. The role of all devices reducing labour during getting to worksite was emphasized. The possibilities of further progress of local reverse crew transportation systems and need of searching other innovative ways of crew transportation was pointed out.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję wykorzystania rozmytych sterowników Mamdaniego do modelowania bezpiecznej prędkości RMS „Titanic” w krytycznym momencie rejsu 14 kwietnia 1912 roku. Dla potrzeb dedykowanego sterownika Logic Fuzzy Controller (Titanic) zaprojektowano sytuacyjny model logiczny obrazujący uwarunkowania nawigacyjno-meteorologiczne i eksploatacyjno-organizacyjne panujące w tym rejonie w newralgicznym momencie podróży. Dodatkowo w modelu uwzględniono psychologiczny czynnik presji i prestiżu rejsu, który nie pozostał bez wpływu na podejmowane decyzje. Wariantowe badanie bezpiecznej prędkości RMS „Titanic” przeprowadzono dla czterech hipotetycznych sytuacji decyzyjnych aplikowanych za pomocą eksperckich baz reguł logicznych.

This paper presents a concept of using the Mamdani fuzzy logic controller for modeling a safe speed for the RMS 'Titanic' at the critical moment of her voyage on 14 April, 1912. For the purposes of the Fuzzy Logic Controller (Titanic) a situation-focused logic model was designed. It displays navigation-meteorology and exploitation-organization related conditions in the area at the crucial moment of the voyage. In addition, a psychological factor of pressure and voyage prestige which affected the decisions made was taken into account in the model. Study of variants of safe speed for RMS ‘Titanic’ were made for four hypothetical decision situations using expert bases of logic rules.

This article contains of chosen aspects of using computer simulations and training stimulators during the process of professional training of drivers and other staff. The article discusses several types of simulators, their purposes, parameters, possibilities of use in different kinds of atmospheric conditions. Enclosed pictures illustrate graphically the issues presented in this article.

The article deals with the implementation and operation of the system of psychological support of the workers of the Ukrainian railways. An important role belongs to the system of psychological support of activities of the railway workers of Ukraine for to improve the quality and efficiency of rail transport, train safety, reduction of injury, occupational diseases and management of human resources. This system is a holistic process of learning, formation, development and correction of professional growth. It is a system of professional activities of psychologists, aimed at creating social and psychological conditions for success and psychological development of the individual in the process of professional interaction. The psychologists of depot regional and suburban trains and locomotive depots provide functioning of this system. The Beginning of the psychological support services - December 2004. At first it was only for members of locomotive crews, given this history, and a significant share of this category of workers guilty of violations of train safety. The members of the research department of human factor «DNDC UZ» together with the relevant departments if «Ukrzaliznytsya» are exercising methodological support, monitored and coordination activities of psychologists. The results of the introduction of psychological support activities: 1. Decreasing the negative impact of human factors on safety on the railways. 2. Prevent the emergence of neuropsychiatric disorders and psychosomatic diseases. 3. Increasing resistance to stressful situations of locomotive crews. 4. Reducing the number of problem (conflict) situations that arise when locomotive crews are incompatibility. 5. Improving the socio-psychological climate in the collectives. 6. High level of professional motivation of locomotive crews. 7. High level of loyalty among the conductors and locomotive crews to the company “Ukrzaliznytsya” 8. Decrease the potential fluidity of personnel.

W artykule przedstawiono złożoną eksperymentalną metodę identyfikacji obciążenia załogi w wyniku wybuchu ładunku TNT pod kołowym pojazdem wojskowym. Ponadto określono parametry wpływające na stopień zagrożenia załogi pojazdów wojskowych oraz scharakteryzowano przeprowadzone eksperymentalne badania poligonowe. Dodatkowo przedstawiono możliwość zastosowania stanowisk do badań typu "drop - test" do przeprowadzania badań identyfikujących obciążenia impulsowe załogi w warunkach laboratoryjnych.

In this paper a computer implementation of method for automatically generating simulation models for computer simulation was presented. Application of this method in practice allow computer integration of production planning systems with simulation ones. The integration uses XML, data mapping and transformation techniques, which are implemented using XSLT Transformation. An example of automatic generation of simulation models, together with control procedures, was carried out to verify the integration of production orders verification system (SWZ) and commercial Enterprise Dynamics simulation system.

Problematyka odporności udarowej pojazdów jest opisywana w wielu artykułach i dokumentach standaryzacyjnych traktujących o obiektach specjalnych. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki analizy numerycznej układu mechanicznego pojazd-wybuch opisanego poprzez obszar Eulera i elementy Lagrange'a. Interakcje pomiędzy pojazdem a ładunkiem uzyskano dzięki sprzężeniu ogólnemu. Przedstawiono wyniki obliczeń numerycznych dla elementów struktury nośnej wozu bojowego obciążonej udarem wygenerowanym wybuchem dużego ładunku wybuchowego pod dnem pojazdy przy uwzględnieniu fali odbitej od podłoża modelowanego modelem materiałowym Mie-Gruneisena. W niniejszej pracy wykorzystano sprzężenie pomiędzy ośrodkiem opisywanym za pomocą równań mechaniki ośrodków ciągłych w ujęciu Eulera, a ośrodkiem opisywanym za pomocą równań Lagrange'a do opisu oddziaływania pomiędzy konstrukcją a obciążającą ją falą ciśnienia pochodzącą od wybuchu. Równaniami w ujęciu Eulera opisuje się zwykle ciecz - w tym wypadku jest to powietrze, w którym dochodzi do detonacji materiału wybuchowego i propagacji fali uderzeniowej. Natomiast równaniami wyrażającymi prawa zachowania masy, pędu i energii w ujęciu Lagrange'a opisuje się zachowanie struktury (konstrukcji). Do sprzężenia oddziaływań płynu i struktury wybrano sprzężenie ogólne, które jest zawarte w standardowej implementacji oprogramowania MSC Dytran. Celem badań numerycznych przedstawionych w niniejszym artykule było zbadanie wpływu gruntu na wyniki analizy numerycznej, którą przeprowadzono dla przykładowego modelu numerycznego skorupy pojazdu obciążonego oddziaływaniem fali ciśnienia pochodzącej od detonacji dużego ładunku materiału wybuchowego. Fala ciśnienia wywołana detonacją (zasymulowana w przybliżeniu detonacją punktową) rozchodziła się w obszarze o kształcie sześcianu z nadanymi odpowiednimi warunkami brzegowymi. Rozwiązanie teoretyczne propagacji silnej nieciągłości o kształcie sferycznym zapoczątkowane ze źródła punktowego istnieje w formie analitycznych równań podobieństwa Taylora. Opracowanie pełnowymiarowego modelu pojazdu specjalnego było poprzedzone dodatkowymi badaniami laboratoryjnymi własności mechanicznych stali pancernej wykorzystywanej do budowy tego typu pojazdów. Badania te przeprowadzono w Katedrze Mechaniki i Informatyki Stosowanej WAT.

The problem of vehicle's resistance on loads impact and standardizations issues, concerning special structures, are broadly discussed in many articles. In this paper, the numerical analysis results from an armoured vehicle, loaded with explosives detonation blast wave is presented. Ground proximity effects in the wave reflection process that is also taken into account. The aim of this study is to examine how to include the ground model into the simulation of impact of blast wave, being the result of detonation of large explosives on a structure of an armoured vehicle's hull. Additional material study of an armour steel was conducted in Department Of Mechanics And Applied Computer Science, Military University of Technology, in order to obtain suitable material.

The article presents the idea of the influence of pilots' (crew's) personality features in designing helicopters on air safety and activities connected with appropriate use of helicopters. Moreover, the presented model correlating the helicopter’s life span with the pilots' (crew's) decision making process creates a very good factor to be taken into consideration during aviation design and quality management of processes. This factor should also be employed in order to create the knowledge of air and technical personnel during aircraft exploitation. Systems constructed according to this model help to select essential information and to analyse current situation concerning air tasks. The analysis of pilots' (crew's) responses allows swift and efficient planning of rational air and technical tasks in order to avoid an air crash, accident or incident.

Codzienne funkcjonowanie firmy w dużej mierze zależy od regularnych spotkań personelu. Ponieważ jednak organizowanie i przeprowadzanie takich spotkań wymaga dużo zaangażowania i zabiera wiele czasu, powinny one przynosić maksimum korzyści [Warner 1999 s. 20]. Ich efektywność będzie z czasem wzrastać pod wpływem wyuczonych i utrwalonych wśród pracowników postaw oraz sposobów działania zespołowego.

The every-day functioning of the firm depends in certain aspects from the regular meetings of personnel. The good preparation of those meetings requires a profound committment and corresponding time. Therefore they need to be very beneficial and useful in their intention and execution. It was confirmed just in Japan practice. Those approaches and even internal customs are transfered to European or other companies, because they influence significantly on market success and employee satisfaction at the some time. It is very important part of the teamwork performance, creating and developing the teamwork spirit as well. The quality audit meetings lead practically to very motivating effects. The creativity is included inside of every man and every employee; must be only effectively liberated. The boss (director, president, chairman, etc.) plays here very specific and the most important role. All of those considerations are in the publication presented.
