Artykuł ma na celu przedstawienie jednej z metod rozwiązywania pewnych układów równań liniowych. Jest przeznaczony głównie dla studentów pierwszego roku studiów licencjackich i inżynierskich na kierunkach technicznych. W artykule przedstawiono wzory Cramera oraz podano przykłady ilustrujące ich zastosowanie w rozwiązywaniu układów równań. Na końcu artykułu zamieszczono zadania do samodzielnego rozwiązania.

This short course is intended for beginners and, therefore, it contains only basic information on the determinant. A recursive definition of the determinant is given based on the Laplace expansion. It is shown how to compute determinants of different orders on the basis of the definition, using Laplace's formula against any row or column, and by means of elementary operations. Basic theorems are given to facilitate the calculation of determinants. The content is illustrated with numerous solved examples, with self-testing examples and answers provided at the end of the course.

We discuss several conjectures proposed recently by A.Z. Küçük and M. Düz on the permanent of certain type of tridiagonal matrices. We recall some less known results on tridiagonal matrices and, at the same time, bring other results together to a common framework.

Celem artykułu jest analiza i ocena roli cech charakterystycznych, wyróżników i wyznaczników w klasyfikacji krajobrazu. Sprecyzowano znaczenie w/w terminów. Określono rolę wyróżników i wyznaczników w badaniach krajobrazu, a w szczególności w klasyfikacji i jego ocenie. Uzasadniono potrzebę wprowadzenia wyróżników i wyznaczników do badań krajobrazu, jako kategorii klasyfikacyjnych krajobrazów. Na koniec zwrócono uwagę na znaczenie naukowe i praktyczne zagadnień zaprezentowanych w publikacji.

The purpose of this article is to analyze and evaluate the role of characteristic features, discriminants and landscape determinants in classification. The meaning of above-mentioned terms was also specified. Defined the role of discriminants and determinants in the research landscape, particularly in the classification and assessment. It was justified by the need to introduce discriminants and determinants to study the landscape, as a category classification landscapes. Finally discussed was the importance of scientific and practical meaning of issues presented in the publication.

Virtually all of the classifications of the cultural circles (civilisations) are in agreement in that they distinguish the European (western, western-European, Latin) civilisation. The fundamental tasks of geography of culture include the presentation of the manners of expressing the differences between various cultures in space. Thus, it becomes important to indicate the characteristic features of the aspects of the areas, over which a given civilisation (in this case – the European one) stretches. In the analysis, though, these elements, which, having originated from a concrete civilisation, became in conditions of globalisation the typical elements of other cultural circles, as well, should be rejected. Identification of the distinguishing elements is most easily performed by the comparison (search for differences) with another cultural circle. For this purpose the civilisation of Islam (Muslim civilisation) was selected.
