Business processes are omnipresent in nowadays economy: companies operate repetitively to achieve their goals, e.g., deliver goods, complete orders. The business process model is the key to understanding, managing, controlling, and verifying the operations of a company. Modeling of business processes may be a legal requirement in some market segments, e.g., financial in the European Union, and a prerequisite for certification, e.g., of the ISO-9001 standard. However, business processes naturally evolve, and continuous model adaptation is essential for rapid spot and reaction to changes in the process. The main contribution of this work is the Continuous Inductive Miner (CIM) algorithm that discovers and continuously adapts the process tree, an established representation of the process model, using the batches of event logs of the business process. CIM joins the exclusive guarantees of its two batch predecessors, the Inductive Miner (IM) and the Inductive Miner – directlyfollows-based (IMd): perfectly fit and sound models, and single-pass event log processing, respectively. CIM offers much shorter computation times in the update scenario than IM and IMd. CIM employs statistical information to work around the need to remember event logs as IM does while ensuring the perfect fit, contrary to IMd.

The article features complex conditions of civilian and military aspects in information warfare. A struggle for information in contemporary organizations plays a crucial role in the process of their functioning. In theory, due to the Internet, an almost unlimited access to huge information sets in the whole world has been created. A struggle to gain financial, industrial, technological or military information has become one of the most essential elements of information society. The intensity of actions to acquire information grows with the number of tasks carried out by both private and state companies. This phenomenon translates into the development of industrial intelligence as an institution which bases on information acquisition and processing. The importance of industrial intelligence in a company management grows steadily. Managers in numerous companies appreciate the significance of information in the decision making process, the complexity and dynamics in the company environment; they look for systems solutions what would enable them gaining as much information as possible.

Niniejszy artykuł jest poświęcony najważniejszym instytucjom działającym na rynku wywiadu gospodarczego. Autorka zajmuje się przede wszystkim funkcjonowaniem wywiadowni handlowych, ale również działaniami agencji ratingowych, służb celnych, kancelarii prawnych, wywiadu rządowego oraz biur informacji gospodarczej. W artykule zostały przedstawione modele biznesowe wymienionych instytucji. Sytuacja na rynku wywiadowni handlowych jest silnie uzależniona od kryzysu, z którym mamy właśnie do czynienia. Przedsiębiorstwa zaczęły przywiązywać większą wagę do wypłacalności swoich kontrahentów i dlatego też częściej korzystają z usług profesjonalnych wywiadowni gospodarczych.

The following article concerns the institutions of business intelligence in today's world. In general there are main players on the market described in details, such as rating agencies, the governmental intelligence, attorneys and professional business intelligence companies. I have introduced some business models of these institutions and the differences between them. The situation on the information market strongly depends on the deep crisis that has just begun. The companies started to pay more attention to their clients and suppliers. That is why they but the business reports from the professionals more often nowadays.
