Solar energy heating system designers need estimates of energy amounts incident on collector surfaces in order to correctly size systems. Most collectors are tilted, but usually the only solar radiation data available refer to horizontal surfaces. The paper presents an approach to determine thermal parameters such as fluid temperature and efficiency of a double-glazed solar collector tested in north-western part of Algeria. Based on meteorological parameters collected during the year 2006, the study examines the validity of predicted performance of the tested solar collector when only one measured parameter is available, the global-horizontal radiation H[h] measured with Black and White pyranometer and obtained by the national meteorological institute of Algeria.
