Współczesne Chiny w oczach mieszkańca Zachodu to liczby: PKB, PMI, CPI, bilans handlowy, wielkość eksportu. Liczby te mówią nam, mieszkańcom zachodniej hemisfery, że dzisiejsze Państwo Środka jest potęgą, pretendentem do pozycji światowego lidera. Nie mówią nam zaś zupełnie nic o kosztach, które poniosło państwo chińskie na drodze z najdalszych pozycji w peletonie trzeciego świata do drugiego, a być może jeszcze w tym roku pierwszego miejsca w rankingu najdynamiczniejszych gospodarek świata. Współczesna refleksja skażona jest powierzchownością. Nie mamy czasu zastanawiać się nad istotą rzeczy. Mamy go wyłącznie tyle, ile trzeba na odbieranie prostych informacji: „Chiny pokonały Japonię”, „Chiny zajęły drugie po USA miejsce w rankingu gospodarczym”. Przyjmujemy te komunikaty bez wchodzenia w szczegóły, a w nich właśnie tkwi diabeł, który nakazuje zapytać: jak to się stało? w jakim czasie? dlaczego? jakim kosztem?

Contemporary China in the eyes of a Westerner this number: GDP, PMI, CPI, trade balance, the volume of exports. These numbers tell us that the inhabitants of the Western Hemisphere that today the Middle Kingdom is a powerhouse contender for global leadership. They do not tell us nothing about the costs it has incurred Chinese state all the way from the farthest position in the peloton third world to another, and perhaps later this year, first place in the ranking of the most dynamic economies in the world. Contemporary reflection is tainted exterior. We have no time to reflect on the essence of things. We got its only as much as they need to receive simple information, "China defeated Japan", "China came in second after the US economic position in the ranking." We accept these messages without going into detail, and in them lies the devil who tells ask: how did it happen? at what time? why? at what cost?

Assessment criteria of bentonite binding properties

The criteria, with which one should be guided at the assessment of the binding properties of bentonites used for moulding sands, are proposed in the paper. Apart from the standard parameter which is the active bentonite content, the unrestrained growth indicator should be taken into account since it seems to be more adequate in the estimation of the sand compression strength. The investigations performed for three kinds of bentonites, applied in the Polish foundry plants, subjected to a high temperature influences indicate, that the pathway of changes of the unrestrained growth indicator is very similar to the pathway of changes of the sand compression strength. Instead, the character of changes of the montmorillonite content in the sand in dependence of the temperature is quite different. The sand exhibits the significant active bentonite content, and the sand compression strength decreases rapidly. The montmorillonite content in bentonite samples was determined by the modern copper complex method of triethylenetetraamine (Cu(II)-TET). Tests were performed for bentonites and for sands with those bentonites subjected to high temperatures influences in a range: 100-700 C.

Wzrost gospodarczy w 2005 roku szacowany jest na około 3,2%. Jest to wskaźnik niższy od zakładanego w budżecie na 2005 r., niższy również od osiągniętego w roku 2004, kiedy notowano wysoki, ponad 5% wskaźnik wzrostu. Osłabienie tempa wzrostu w 2005 r. uzasadniane jest często statystycznym efektem „bazy odniesienia", ale najwazniejszą przyczyną był brak inwestycji. Nie nastąpił oczekiwany wzrost popytu wewnętrznego. Podstawowym czynnikiem wspomagajqcym wzrost gospodarczy jest eksport, ktory notuje wysokie obroty. Szybciej wzrasta eksport niż import, w związku z czym ujemne saldo wymiany zmniejsza się.
