Detailed knowledge of the structure-dependent physical mechanisms governing heat transport at the microscale is essential for assuring superior thermal performance of microelectronic devices. However, conventional transport theories cannot explain phenomena associated with the microscale flow. From this reason, the problem of developing a hydrodynamic theory of micro (fluidic) systems is a topical and still unsolved problem. Structural effects correlated with scale effects through macrosopic phenomena are incorporated into the structure-induced mesoscopic approach. The local internal structure of a condensed medium is used to define structure-dependent differential operators both at the macro- and mesolevel. The fundamental transport equations can then be derived and a relevant scale effect in the low-dimensional heat transport is presented.

W pracy opisano właściwości tribologiczne: współczynnik tarcia i zużycie materiałów modyfikowanych powierzchniowo metodami implantacji jonowej (mieszania jonowego – beam mixing). Badania trybologiczne przeprowadzono stosując dwa rodzaje testów: tarciowo-zużuciowe w układzie "kulka-płytka" i zarysowanie (scratching). Przeprowadzono analizę wyników badań w skali „makro” i "mikro".

Tribological properties: friction coefficient and wear of surface modified materials by use of ion-implementation (ion-beam mixing) are described. The tribological studies have been performed by the use of two tests: friction-wear test ball-on-plate (plane) and scratch test. The analysis of the results both for "macro" and "micro" scales is presented.
