Purpose: The purpose of the paper is to presents two sowing machines for interval sowing, differing in the mode of operation. We were interested in adequacy of sowing at different working speeds of the pneumatic vacuum sowing machine OLT and the pneumatic pressure sowing machine Aeromat - Becker for sowing sugar beet. The goal of the paper is to find out the optimum working speed for the individual sowing machine. Design/methodology/approach: : In completely identical conditions at different speeds of sowing two sowing machines which are most widely used in Slovenia were tested. Findings: We measured and calculated the parameters such as working efficiency, depth of sowing, inter - row distance and distance between seeds in the sowing row. Research limitations/implications: For successful sowing it is necessary to know adequacy of the soil for sowing, technical properties of the sowing machine and biotechnical characteristics of the seed. Cultivation of sugar beet depends primarily on expert and technically correct sowing. For growth and normal development of plants the distance between seeds in the sowing row is the most important parameter. Practical implications: Expertly performed sowing and sowing machines are of great importance for cultivation of sugar beet. The tests were aimed at defining the most suitable sowing speed for both sowing machines on the basis of measured data. The principal aim of the paper is to establish whether the higher working speed influences the quality of sowing. It is very important for the producers to be well familiarized with all agro-technical measures because cultivation of sugar beet requires much money invested and work performed per unit of area. Originality/value: : The optimum sowing speed of the pneumatic vacuum machine OLT is 8 km/h and the optimum sowing speed of the pneumatic pressure sowing machine Aeromat - Becker is 10 km/h.

Przedstawiono wyniki badań laboratoryjnych dotyczących jakości siewu nasion pietruszki sekcją roboczą siewnika S011 Alex z taśmowym zespołem wysiewającym. Stwierdzono, że najkorzystniejsze udziały nasion pietruszki odmiany Eagle i Vistula w badanych klasach odległości w rzędzie wystąpiły przy prędkości roboczej siewnika 0,5 m/s. Przy prędkości 0,4 m/s i większej od 0,5 m/s zaobserwowano pogorszenie dokładności rozmieszczenia nasion w rzędzie, co wyrażało się obniżeniem udziałów wysiewów pojedynczych oraz wzrostem udziałów wysiewów podwójnych i przepustów. Analiza statystyczna wyników wykazała w większości przypadków istotne różnice między udziałami wysiewów pojedynczych, podwójnych i przepustów przy badanych prędkościach roboczych siewnika. Na tej podstawie można stwierdzić, że prędkość robocza siewnika wpływała istotnie na jakość siewu nasion badanych odmian pietruszki w warunkach laboratoryjnych.

Laboratory tests results were presented, regarding the sowing quality of parsley seeds with the working section of the seed drill S011 Alex with conveyor seeding system. It was found that the most favourable share of parsley seeds of the variety Eagle and Vistula in the examined classes of distance in the row took place at the working speed of the seed drill of 0.5 m/s. At the speed of 0.4 m/s and more than 0.5 m/s a deterioration of the accuracy of seed placement in a row was observed, which was expressed by the lowering of single seeding rates and increase of double seeding and passes. The statistical analysis of the results showed in most of the cases essential differences between the shares of single, double seeding and misses with the examined working speeds of the seed drill. Based on this, it can be said that the working speed of the seed drill had a substantial effect on the seeding quality of the examined parsley varieties in laboratory conditions.

Praca zawiera badania jakości wykonania zębów, obejmujące sprężystość (wielkości ugięcia pod wpływem przyłożonej siły), twardość (HRC, HV), badania metalograficzne zęba o najniższej i najwyższej trwałości z każdej partii badanej na stanowisku, śrub mocujących redliczkę oraz badania skaningowe. Stwierdzono, że na zróżnicowanie trwałości mają wpływ błędy obróbki cieplnej, przede wszystkim gruboziarnistość struktury.

The work deals with the manufacturing quality testing of cultivators tines. Tested were: elasticity of the tines, that is deflection size under the applied force, as well as HRC and HV hardness. Also metallographic and scanning testings of tines of the highest and the lowest durability from the each batch tested on the stand were carried out. Tested were in the same way the screws fixing tines share points. It was stated that the diversified tines durability was caused by heat treatment faults, and first of all by coarse grain structure.
