Presented in the paper is a technology for manufacturing ecological inserts for exquisite textile products. The raw material for the inserts is 100% wool from Polish merino and upland sheep. Using these wools the following three variants of needled material were produced: 100% merino wool; 50/50 merino wool and upland wool; 30% merino and 70% upland. The needled woolen materials were made to have an area weight from 200 to 500 g/m2 and were produced at varied needling counts. The optimum linear densities and needling counts were determined for inserts respectively suitable for the production of duvets, blankets, coats and skiing overalls. The textile product made with a needled woolen insert is both ecological (pure new wool) and warm.
