Unbuilt proposals for post-war Wrocław: sample digital models

The goal of the study was to present the process and the effects of digital reconstruction of unrealised architectural projects for Wrocław. The subject of the research were the projects by renowned architects such as Jadwiga Grabowska-Hawrylak, Stefan Müller, Zenon Prętczyński, Andrzej Frydecki. The visualisations are the first attempt of digital reconstructions based on preserved incomplete archival plans. The attempt was presented as a process aimed at presenting original design ideas in new light, allowing realistic presentation of the buildings in the surroundings, they were designed for. The authors of the article tried to reconstruct the proportions of buildings, their locations, relations with context and textures they were meant to be finished with. The article presents the most intriguing aspects of the work and the difficulties of the research. The authors based their work not only on the archival projects but also on the architectural tendencies they are clearly rooted in. The presentation of the projects in the form of visualisations allows better understanding of the original architectural goals of their designers and the opens new perspective at the post-war modern architecture.

Celem artykułu było przedstawienie procesu i efektu odtwarzania cyfrowego niezrealizowanych koncepcji architektonicznych dla Wrocławia. Przedmiotem pracy były projekty takich architektów jak Jadwiga Grabowska-Hawrylak, Stefan Müller, Zenon Prętczyński, Andrzej Frydecki. Przygotowane wizualizacje są pierwszą próbą odtworzenia projektów na podstawie niepełnych materiałów archiwalnych. Próba ta została ukazana jako proces, którego celem jest przybliżenie oryginalnych idei projektowych w nowym ujęciu, pozwalającym na rzeczywiste przedstawienie ich kontekście, w którym miały powstać. Podczas pracy autorzy artykułu starali się zarówno odtworzyć proporcje budynków, ich lokalizację, relacje z otoczeniem, jak i materiały, jakimi miały być wykończone. W artykule omówiono też najbardziej intrygujące zagadnienia i trudności związane z badaniem. Opierano się nie tylko na koncepcjach, ale także na ówczesnych tendencjach projektowych, w których dane koncepcje są wyraźnie zakorzenione. Ukazanie projektów za pomocą wizualizacji pozwala na lepsze zrozumienie założeń architektonicznych przyjętych przez ich autorów, a także spojrzenie na krajobraz miasta z perspektywy powojennych projektantów.

The virtual reality technology is under active development by a variety of agencies and disciplines. One of the practical application is the intertrader coordinations. This technique provides many advantages to intertrader meetings. After the meeting (in a virtual 3D world), application can create interactive report of coordinations.

W artykule przedstawiono badania zjawisk przepływowych i analizy struktur dwufazowych w aparatach ze złożem fluidalnym, które realizowano pod kątem opracowania optycznej metody analizy charakterystyk hydrodynamicznych aparatów fluidalnych oraz oceny parametrów struktur dwufazowych gaz-ciało stałe, wytworzonych w pionowych modelach kolumn fluidyzacyjnych. Opracowano optyczną metodę oceny struktury dwufazowej w aparatach fluidalnych i zastosowano metodę do badań procesu fluidyzacji klasycznej, cyrkulacyjnej oraz fontannowej. Wykonano analizę porównawczą aparatów i wypełnień złoża poprzez czasową i przestrzenną analizę zmienności parametrów obrazu struktury. Wykazano, że czasowa fluktuacja poziomu szarości obrazu oraz stochastyczna analiza zmian tego parametru stanowi mierzalny parametr procesu fluidyzacji i umożliwia poprawną ocenę oraz identyfikację struktur dwufazowych w aparatach fluidalnych.

Study of two-phase flow phenomena and analysis of two-phase, gas-solid flow pattern in fluidization apparatuses was realized at an angle of elaboration of optical method for analysis of hydrodynamic characteristies of fluidization apparatuses and estimation of two phase flow structure parameters. Application of the optical method for classical, jet-spouted and fast fluidization research. Comparative analysis of apparatus types and solids by time and space analysis, of certain image's feature fluctuation. Digital image processing and dynamie image analysis in time of the process domain and in space of the apparatus domain. Stochastic analysis of the image's gray Ievel fluctuation course. Comparison and interpretation of two phase flow structure estimation, inside different fluidization apparatuses. It was shown that gray level of the image fluctuation is measurable fluidization parameter. Stochastic analysis of the gray level changes enables estimation and recognition of two phase flow patterns in fluidic devices. With the use of videogrametry, systematic elassification of two phase, gas-solid flow structures in various apparatuses was madę. Elaborated optical method allows monitoring of the process for its control and automation, in respect of producing and maintaining desired flow pattern of two phase, gas-solid mixture.
