The ability of a helical rotor to cause intensive circulation of thick fibrous stock in the pulper vat depends significantly on the complex geometry of vanes helical surface and on rheolo-gical properties of fibrous suspension characterized by the consistency factor m. The simple relationships presented offer a possibility to determine a speed of the rotor required for flu-idization of thick fibrous stock of a given consistency and to calculate an approximate value of the apparent viscosity of fibrous suspension of a given consistency at a specific rotational speed of the rotor, both in laminar and a turbulent flow conditions.
