W artykule przedstawiono analizę problemu wpływu jakości rozcinanej taśmy z powłoką siluminową na jakość złącza. Wykazano, że dokładność utrzymania szerokości pasma musi się określać przedziałem š0,02 mm. Wyjście poza ten przedział zwiększało ryzyko powstawania wady złącza. Graniczną wartość gratu określono na 0,04 mm. Wyniki badań były jednym z elementów niezbędnych do określenia kryteriów wymiany narzędzi i regulacji procesu.

Aluminium has been used as a coating component of those steel strips which are used to manufacture welded, smooth and perforated pipes designed as exhaust system parts. Low-carbon steel strip with double-sided Al-Si coating containing ca 9 % of silicon, ca 20 ěm thick. Excellent base adherence, thanks to the intermediate alloy layer, is the characteristic feature of the coating. The adherence is a characteristic feature of fire-applied coatings. The pipes are produced in 8 unit processes: Shearing of wide strip — perforating — open-joint tube moulding — induction welding with high frequency currents — flash removal — calibrating — cutting — product quality inspection. The wide strip is sheared with a rotary slitter. The article presents the analysis of the influence of the quality of sheared strip with silumin coating on the joint quality. It has been shown that the accuracy of maintaining the strip width must be kept within š0.02mm range. Exceeding this range meant a higher risk of joint defect appearance. The border value of the grade was determined at 0.04mm. The results of the tests were one of the elements necessary to specify the criteria of tool changing and process control.
