W pracy opisano zastosowanie aplikacji internetowej do oceny jakości dopasowania aparatów słuchowych. Metoda oceny polega na badaniu ankietowym, uzupełnionym testem rozumienia słów jednosylabowych w polu swobodnym. Opisywana aplikacja internetowa pozwala na przeprowadzenie badania z dowolnego komputera z dostępem do sieci. Dzięki implementacji metody w postaci aplikacji internetowej, można w systematyczny i uporządkowany sposób dokonywać oceny korzyści z użytkowania aparatów słuchowych. Daje też możliwość jej rozszerzenia czy modyfikacji. Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika, że ok. 60% użytkowników uzyskało w ciągu 7 dni zysk z aparatu słuchowego ≥10%, co oznacza efektywne zaopatrzenie. Największy zysk osiągają pacjenci z 2. i 3. stopniem niedosłuchu według skali WHO (World Health Organization).

The study presents application of the web-based application for the assessment of quality of hearing aid fitting. The method consists of a survey supplemented with the test for recognizing the single syllable words under free-field conditions. A web-based application has been developed to allow testing from any computer with the Internet access. The implementation of the method in the form of a web-based application, allows a systematic and organized assessment of the benefits gained from the hearing aid use. The application is an easy-to-use tool that can easily be modified. On the basis of the study performed, it may be observed that in the case of 60% of subjects it was possible to achieve benefit ≥10%, which signifies an effective fitting of the hearing aid. The highest benefit occurs for subjects with grade 2 and 3 of hearing loss according to the WHO scale.

KOALA has been created with the idea of C++ library templates, implementing a broad set of procedures in the fields of algorithmic graph theory and network problems in discrete optimization. During the C2 NIWA project, a library has been greatly extended, the code refactored and enclosed with the internet service available in the public repository of the project. Today it contains interconnected educational materials in the form of Wikibook, documentation and sample codes, a multifunctional web-based application for edition of graphs, a collection of over 100 web services which offers a library of selected procedures to be run on the BeesyCluster system.

W pracy przedstawiono analizę zagrożeń dla aplikacji internetowych umożliwiających dostęp do baz danych. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na ataki włamywaczy do systemów internetowych (hakerów). Wyróżniono szereg kategorii ataków, wykorzystujących błędy projektantów, administratorów i użytkowników. Przedstawiono metody przeciwdziałania omówionym zagrożeniom.

This paper presents analysis of different types of threats for Web-based applications which are using databases. On-purpose hackers' attacks are in special consideration. Several attack types, which take adventage of errors made by application developers, administrators and common users, are described. The paper presents also methods use to avoid this kind of attacks.

Oracle Application Server is the platform for designing the Web-based applications using the PL/SQL. In the paper the Web Toolkit basic functionality and possibility of using PL/SQL Server Pages as an alternative way of generating HTML pages were presented.

Fast and easy access to all relevant data is of most importance in medical diagnostics and therapy. Electronic patient records can fulfil these requirements much better than common paper-based records. This article describes the TBase2 system, an example of such an electronic patient record. It was developed in close cooperation with the Department of Nephrology at the university hospital Charité in Berlin. Due to its flexibility TBase2 can easily be adapted to the demands of other departments. Beside supporting the daily care for patients, TBase2 also gathers detailed data of high validity ideally suited for medical research.
