Geological interpretation of seismic sections in structurally and lithofacially complex settings encounters many difficulties connected first of all with a correct identification of seismic horizons and with their correct stratigraphical correlation. In this paper the results of a wavelet analysis and zero-phase section calculation were presented, aimed at the improvement of resolution of a seismic section and identification of the so-called P1 reflection from the top of Rotliegendes. It was found that the improvement of section resolution allows to follow such subtle phenomena as a change of signal shape connected with the water/gas contact. An extracted zero-phase wavelet attributed to the Rotliegendes top allows for certain identification of this seismic horizon.
