Przedstawiono wyniki badań wymywalności zanieczyszczeń z mieszaniny odpadowych mas formierskich i rdzeniowych, pochodzących z jednej z krajowych odlewni żeliwa. Określone wielkości wskaźników zanieczyszczeń w mg/kg suchego odpadu porównano z wartościami granicznymi. Pozwoliło to na ocenę ekologiczną badanego odpadu w odniesieniu do aktualnych normatywów.

The paper discusses the results of the tests on elution rate of pollutants from mixtures of the waste moulding and core sands disposed to the dumping ground by one of the domestic iron foundries. The obtained values of the pollution indices calculated in mg per one kilogram of the dry waste matter were compared with the respective boundary values. This enabled the examined waste material to be evaluated for its impact on the natural environment, comparing the obtained values with standards currently used.

W referacie podano krótką charakterystykę odpadowych mas formierskich. Omówiono aktualny stan gospodarki tymi odpadami. Przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczących zastosowania odpadowych mas pochodzących z procesów odlewniczych w drogownictwie oraz budownictwie. Określenie właściwości fizyko-chemicznych omawianych odpadów pozwoliło na dokonanie oceny możliwości ich wykorzystania.

In the article a short characteristic of the waste moulding sands was given. The actual state of the waste management was discussed. The results of research works concerning the application of the waste sands coming from foundry processes in the road engineering and building industry were presented. The determination of the physical-chemical properties of the wastes under discussion allowed to evaluate the possibilities of their utilization.

The paper gives short characteristic of the waste moulding sands. The current state of the management of this waste has also been discussed. The results of tests concerning utilisation of the foundry waste sand in road and house building have been outlined. The determination of physical and chemical properties of this waste enabled an assessment of the possibility of their utilisation in these sectors of industry.
