Wiele informacji dotyczących pracy urządzeń pokładowych samolotu. ich awarii lub zagrożeń zewnętrznych jest dostarczanych w postaci dwustanowych sygnałów elektrycznych. Sygnały te muszą być przekazywane do świadomości załogi podczas lotu. Typowy sposób przekazywania informacji polega na podświetleniu haseł informujących o rodzaju zagrożenia. Ranga informacji przekazywana jest w postaci barwy świecącego napisu lub jego migotania. Dla usprawnienia przekazywania informacji i rozszerzenia ich zakresu służy sygnalizacja głosowa w postaci zaprogramowanych komunikatów o zagrożeniach i instrukcji pilotażowych przekazywanych przez słuchawki załogi.

A lot of information concerned about functioning the aircraft installations and warning of their failure or of external dangers come from aircraft sensors as two - state electric signals. All the information should be transfered to the pilot's mind in flight. Messages may be distinguished as warning, caution and normal type. The most important, warning messages must be perceived immediately, some of them that caution against failure should be perceived in a short time and the normal ones can be noticed in a suitable period of time. Typical manner of displaying the message consists in lightening of keawords concerning the type of danger. The weight of message is displayed as the color of light and intensified by blinking, if necessary. To make the reception of information more efficient, same aircraft manufacturers introduced audio monitoring by means of reports expressed by human voice. The device designed for light aircraft can contain many brief reports and flight instructions recorded in an electronic memory, to be reproduced by earphones each time when the appriopriate electric signals appear.
