The paper presents two methods for testing textile products. They have been implemented into the range of tests at the Metrology Laboratory of MORATEX, accredited by Polish Centre for Accreditations: PN-EN ISO 14419:2010 " Textiles. Oil repellency. Hydrocarbon resistance test", PN-EN 1149-3:2007 "Protective clothing. Electrostatic properties. Part 3: Test methods for measurement of charge decay". The repeatability and reproducibility of standard test methods have been examined on a basis of executed interlaboratory comparisons, which allowed for assessing the ability of the laboratory to perform tests competently and obtain reliable results.

The article presents a comparative analysis of a selected chemical property flammability of Nomex Comfort fabric as well as and fire fighting clothing made of this fabric and typical barracks clothing of firemen. Was also examined the amount of heat emitted during combustion of fabrics. It has been shown that Nomex Comfort fabric and garments made from it the requirement of human protection against heat and can be safely used in the impact zones of the hot flame (as opposed to the fabric for barracks garment). Thus it was proved that the type of fibers used in fabrics for clothing fire is a very important thing in protective clothing design.
