APNB (alkaline phenolic no bake), widely known as Alphaset is one of the major sand binder systems used in foundries to make molds and cores without application of heat or gas. This is a two part system comprising of a phenol-formaldehyde resin in alkaline medium as binder and range of esters of dibasic acids and/or polyhydric alcohols as hardeners. Resin performance varies depending upon formulations. Major variables in formulations are mole ratio of phenol: formaldehyde, total alkali content, ratio of two alkalis (NaOH & KOH) and molecular weight of polymers i.e. chain length. In present work, one mole ratio of phenol & formaldehyde has been chosen to prepare 8 resins [...].

Określono wpływ stosunku molowego żywicy mocznikowo-formaldehydowej, zmieniany w przedziale 1,03-1,26 na właściwości płyt aglomerowanych z rozdrobnionej słomy rzepakowej i sosnowych trocin tartacznych. Płyty wytwarzano według parametrów technologicznych zbliżonych do aktualnie stosowanych w przemyśle. Właściwości płyt badano według norm metodycznych dla płyt wiórowych. Wyniki badań wykazały, że stosując odpowiednią żywicę mocznikowo-formaldehydową można z mieszaniny rozdrobnionej słomy rzepakowej i trocin wytworzyć płyty spełniające aktualne wymagania dla płyt wiórowych do wyposażenia wnętrz i produkcji mebli.

The aim of the tests was to identify and quantify the influence of molar ratio of urea-formaldehyde glue resin on the properties of panels made from disintegrated rape straw and sawdust. The tests aimed at getting an answer to the following question: whether and at which molar ratio it is possible, using the above-mentioned lignocellulosic raw materials, to produce panels which would meet requirements for particleboards intended for indoor equipment and furniture production. Panel properties were tested according to effective methodical standards. If we use an adequate urea-formaldehyde resin and technological parameters similar to the industrial ones, it is possible to produce from disintegrated rape straw and pine sawdust panels which meet the requirements for particleboards intended for indoor equipment and furniture production.

Zbadano kinetykę reakcji kwasu metakrylowego (KM) z "Epidianem 6" prowadzonej w obecności octanu chromu (III) jako katalizator. Zaproponowano model kinetyczny procesu i obliczono stałe szybkości realcji. Przedyskutowano etż mechanizm mechanizm badanej reakcji.

Akinetic study was carried out on the reaction of mathacrylic acid with an epoxy bisphenol A resin, run in the presence of chromium (III) acetate used catalyst. A kinetic model was suggested and reaction rate constans were calculated.
