This publication touches upon the perspectives of hybrid drives adopted in machinery. Valid norms for exhaust gases cleanliness are so restrictive that despite new technologies of limiting detrimental environmental effect, the European car industry has been experiencing problems in satisfying the required demands. By 2012, the automotive has been obligated to reduce average CO2 emission in cars to 120g/km. It is obvious at the moment that, with the present level of technological changes, this will prove impossible. The author suggests hybrid drives as an answer to this problem. He describes all the advantages and disadvantages of this new kind of propulsion system, based on its use in different working machines such as fork-lift trucks, mobile cranes and a number of others.

Obowiązujące dziś normy czystości spalin są tak restrykcyjne, że mimo nowoczesnych technologii ograniczania emisji szkodliwych związków, europejski przemysł samochodowy ma problemy ze spełnieniem wymaganych kryteriów. Do 2012 roku koncerny motoryzacyjne mają zredukować średnią emisję spalin CO2 w nowo produkowanych samochodach do 120 g/km. Już wiadomo, że przy obecnym tempie zmian technologicznych nie będzie to możliwe.
