Pyrolysis of nine coal samples of various properties at heating rates of 5,20,40 and 99°C/min to final temperatures of 450, 550, 600, 650, 700, 750, 800, 850 and 900°C have been conducted. Accordingly relationships for volatile product output evaluation in dependence on heating rate, final temperature and volatile matter content Vdaf have been correlated. Relationships have been tested on coals of various properties and on the samples of coal with high multiple correlation coefficient. Which is not the case in quoted sources, relationship derived in this paper formulates volatile product output of pyrolysis as a function of only one (for given process conditions) parameter Vdaf, universal for both individual and blended coals.
