Usługa wideokonferencji, jaką jest Microsoft Teams, jest rodzajem usługi w modelu „cloud computing” typu SaaS (Software as a Service). W ramach tej usługi jej użytkownicy mogą przesyłać obraz ze swoich kamer, dźwięk ze swoich mikrofonów, tekst (chat) i załączniki (pliki). Udostępniane są też różne funkcje zarządzania komunikacją przez organizatora wideokonferencji. W artykule opisano wyniki badania użyteczności wybranych funkcji płatnej usługi, ze względu na przydatność w prowadzeniu nauczania zdalnego na uczelni wyższej.

The videoconference communication platform, which is Microsoft Teams, is a type of service implemented in the SaaS (Software as a Service) cloud computing model. Users of this platform can distribute signals from their cameras and microphones, text via chat, and files as attachments. The service provides various communication management functions available for the videoconference organizer. The paper presents results of usability study on selected functions of this paid service, due to its usefulness in remote learning.

Artykuł przedstawia analizę systemu Internetu Rzeczy zintegrowanego z systemem wideokonferencyjnym zbudowanym zgodnie z architekturą WebRTC. Dane aplikacji Internetu Rzeczy przesyłane są pomiędzy terminalami kanałem danych WebRTC, równocześnie z danymi wideokonferencji. Analiza uwzględnia poziomy QoS protokołu MQTT, liczbę aktywnych urządzeń Internetu Rzeczy oraz lokalizację terminali (pobliską i odległą).

In this paper, an analysis of Internet of Things (IoT) system, integrated with a videoconferencing system built according to the WebRTC architecture, is presented. Analysis covers Quality of Service (QoS) levels of the MQTT protocol, number of active IoT devices and location of a corresponding WebRTC terminal.

Mimo, iż architektura WebRTC systemów konferencyjnych pozwala na zestawianie bezpośrednich połączeń peer-to-peer pomiędzy przeglądarkami WWW, znane są również rozwiązania pozwalające na zestawienie scentralizowanej konferencji, wykorzystującej mostek konferencyjny. Jednym z takich rozwiązań jest Kurento Media Server. W artykule przedstawione zostały badania wideokonferencji WebRTC bazującej na serwerze mediów (mostku konferencyjnym) Kurento, zlokalizowanym w środowisku zdalnej chmury.

Although the WebRTC architecture of conferencing systems allows the user for establishment of direct peer-to-peer connections between web browsers, there are known solutions that allow for setup of a centralized conference, which uses a conferencing bridge. One of such solutions is the Kurento Media Server. In the paper investigations of a WebRTC videoconference based on the Kurento Media Server (conference bridge) in remote cloud environment are presented.

The article aims to analyze innovative solutions in the areas of virtualization and video communication within economic and social processes. Some general trends in computer-mediated communication have been identified. Our findings that confirm these trends relate to telework and new challenges in supporting religious practices. We see trends emerging that create entirely new opportunities to boost the efficiency of decision making and management processes in organizations and to support all kinds of social processes.

Assume that some businessmen wish to have a meeting. For this to occur, they usually have to meet somewhere. If they cannot meet physically, then they can take part in a video (or audio) conference to discuss whatever needs to be discussed. But what if their meeting is meant to be private? In this case they need a cryptographic protocol that allows them to exchange their ideas remotely, while keeping them secure from any potential eavesdropper. In this paper we list all the necessary requirements that a cryptographic protocol must have in order to allow several businessmen to exchange their ideas securely over the Internet. Moreover, and based on the standard taxonomy of cryptographic protocols, we suggest several approaches on how to design cryptographic protocols that enable us to achieve our aim. Finally, we propose the design of a protocol that solves the meeting businessmen problem.

Omówiono sposób realizacji multimedialnej usługi wideokonferencji. Został dokonany przegląd sposobów i trybów realizacji usługi z wykorzystaniem technik sieci komutowanych i pakietowych. Wskazano słabe punkty obecnych rozwiązań oraz przedstawiono sposoby ich poprawy. Dużo uwagi poświęcono sposobom migracji usługi w stronę systemów zgodnych ze specyfikacją NGN/IMS. Dodatkowo poruszono aspekty związane z bezpieczeństwem usługi, jakością realizacji wideokonferencji oraz możliwymi scenariuszami rozwoju usługi.

The article presents the main technical issues of deploying videoconference services in the contemporary telecommunication networks. It highlights the key network items being involved in providing the multimedia services for the classic circuit switch and modern packet switch networks. The weak points of each solution were emphasized and some countermeasures were proposed. In this paper authors focus on the videoconference sernice integration process towards the IP provider networks presenting state of the art on the ongoing work of migration to the NGN/IMS infrastructure. The article faces the security and quality of service issues in IMS videoconferencing platform identifying the possible develop directions and its influences to the next generation telecommunication networks.
