Problems concerning the modelling of the vibro-acoustic emission of machines have been presented in the paper. Several algorithms useful in modelling of the acoustic field around machines have also been shown. Results of acoustic pressure and sound intensity measurements around industrial sound sources were the bases of model formations. The sound field modelling of the actual sound source by the pressure method requires the estimation of the spatial sound pressure distribution. Measurements of the sound intensity around machines performed by a dual-microphone probe are quite common in industry. These results can be utilised for the development of substitute sound models based on the intensity method. Described methods can be also useful in constructing models of pipelines treated as a system of cylindrical sources. Mathematical equations, algorithms of modelling and exemplary calculation results are also presented in the paper.
