W artykule zostały zaprezentowana rola europejskich węzłów transportowych w łańcuchach dostaw oraz sieciowych układach dostaw. Przedstawione zostały typy węzłów transportowych funkcjonujących w Europie. Dokonana została krótka charakterystyka takich węzłów jak: porty morskie, śródlądowe i lotnicze, terminale kolejowe, w tym suche porty i terminale intermodalne i centra logistyczne w obszarze przeładunkowo-składowym. Analizie została poddana rola węzłów w ich funkcji transportowej, przemysłowej, handlowej i logistyczno-dystrybucyjnej wraz z prezentacją świadczonych usług transportowych, spedycyjnych i logistycznych będących elementami łańcuchów dostaw.

The article presented the role of the European transport modes in the supply chain and supply network system. Presented the types of operating transport nodes in Europe. Made a brief characterization of such notes as seaports, inland and air, rail terminals, including dry ports, and intermodal terminals and logistics centers in the handling area. The analysis has been the role of nodes in the transport function, industrial, trade and distribution, together with the presentation of transport services, freight forwarding and logistics which are elements of supply chains.
